They are dropping the price in Europe because they want to counter the ps3 when GTA comes out.

well its free, but I also find that I am much more forgiving because the CORE part of online entertainment is great. The PS3 has dedicated servers for its exclusives. They support their games very well and thats the 1 MOST IMPORTANT thing when it comes to online gaming. P2P sucks without dedicated servers.
Well, I wonder what percentage of 90% and above titles on the 360 are shooters? I am not saying that its the only kind of game on the 360 and I am not saying that its the only kind of good game but I am saying that the majority of the "AAA" titles on the 360 are shooters.

the problem with the 360's 'great lineup' of software is that its limited to 1-2 genres. ALL of the big 360 games are shooters of some sort. I love shooters, but I also love diversity.
Folklore is a great title but you just never see that stuff on the 360. If one currently looks at the lineup one must also consider the years difference between releases of the hardware.

Well although the PS3 does have some really great software, I can see his point. However, I think with time this dudes worries will be over. It takes time to learn new hardware and it takes time to produce great software. By the end of this year this article will be forgotten.
It's Sony and at the end of each generation we have looked back and saw a MASSIVE catalogue of diverse games. I highly doubt this gen will be any different.

there will be discs or some other sort of physical format for the next 25 years, at least. Its a WAY WAY more reliable form of storage than an HDD.
I really think that both are viable options and I really see them living in harmony for some time. If I personally had to choose though, I would choose a physical format. The only way DLC will survive for the next decade is if it lives in unison with blu-ray. There is no way for it to be the 'format' of choice by most consumers right now.

well i think you are right but I believe we will see the ps4 before 2015. At the earliest I think we will see a new PS around xmas of 2011 and latest around mid 2013. The new xbox at the earliest is xmas of 09 and the latest mid 2011.
I cant even begin to predict about the wii, its just too much of an unknown. If i really had to guess though it would be 2010-2011.

I see what you are saying and its a good choice for some consumers (handicapped and so on) but there still needs to be a choice between physical media and DD.
