the evidence is in the market. DD lacks mobility, quality, and accessibility. When i can take my DD movies anywhere and watch them, when I can download 1080p uncompressed video and audio, when I can download these uncompressed movies in under 5 hours (Never gonna happen with broadband, fiber optics anyone?) then come back here and discuss this with me.

lol, MS says that there will magically be enough consoles for April when GTA comes out. This whole shortage thing stinks like a bad PR move to cover up bad sales. How could you just have shortages in a few of the SLOWEST console selling months of the year?
for gods sakes, you actually believe this shortage nonsense? They sold 7 million consoles last year, 3 million less than the year before and you think there are shortages of consoles? If thats the case than the xbox3 is coming sooner than we all think.

i gotta disagree sonarus... i really dont believe there is a supply issue. Why all of a sudden would there be a supply issue especially 3 years into production? If they sold more consoles at xmas the supply issues should have been handled by now. Common sense tells us that its an excuse. Correct me if I am wrong but retailers buy the game from the manufacturers and then sell them. I see what you are saying though, they have 2 potential customers but if they buy a used one then they only had one.
However, we must consider that the buyer of the used game may never have bought the game at the 'new' pricing. The used buyer is never a guaranteed sell to the developer and if its a good game they may even buy the developers next game.

thats actually a really good business proposition. People like the idea of a risk free buy and in the end they are less likely to take things back if it appeals to them at all and even if it doesnt they still have the possibility of not bringing it back. My only question is can EB send the openned games back to the manufacturer without penalty?
