yeah, 1up is way too biased for my liking. This game is scoring huge though. However, I take reviews from 1up with a grain of salt.

no one single game can save any system. Its too early to tell whats going to happen. Next year, sonys major exclusives come out (much like this year for MS) and who knows what the wii has in store. Like I have said before it will be next winter before there is any light on how this console generation will end up.

I am so very glad Sony doesnt take your advise or the last two generations of video games would have missed out on SO much. I dont really agree with Sony's strategy so far, which is plagued with delays, focusing on some wrong things, and their price point is too high.
However, there is plenty of time to 'turn' things around. Its not even a year old yet, 100 million last gen users havent converted to the new generation, and the very very successful PS franchises (MGS, GT, FF...

Yeah, Sony had better realize that marketing is needed in order to sell a product. Who knows though, sony's marketing is so terrible they may surprise us with some grand announcement. for one thing (Mr. I love a douche bag), no company can ever combat a halo release... thats really not possible at this point. Secondly, i still think it will be announced in november. Nothing Sony can do about halo, they have to move on and take on their own problems before they worry about a lost cause like counteracting a halo release.

Its not the expense factor that most likely turns you on to the PS brand its the expectation that you have of owning it... it will be a good system...better than most, from my understanding, but dont say.you like the system because of how much it costs.
thats a nice theory its too bad i dont happen to agree with it. for one thing, MGS is largely a Japanese game, the 360 is all but dead in Japan. Oh yeah, and FF is a Japanese game too. Although these games are popular elsewhere everyone knows when these two titles hit the ps user base will skyrocket around the world. This console war is larger than the Americas. I think the 360 will dominate the ps3 this holiday season. However, this doesnt mean the death of any system.
