Hmmm, I missed this one, but I'm intrigued by the concept. Nice review
Than you, sir! Much appreciated, it has been good first year and an excellent learning experience!
This would be the other possibility that would probably be more ideal seeing as this would likely allow the game to end up on more than just one platform. I'd back that Day 1 for sure!
I personally don't care what system it comes out on, as long as DelToro and Hideo Kojima involved as well, I just want them to make the game they envisioned. I know P.T. wasn't indicative of what Silent Hills would be like, but it showed the type of atmosphere those two visionary directors are capable of creating. I hope someone opens the wallet and pays the ransom I'm sure Konami will ask for.
I'm actually super intrigued by Wander after watching the gameplay trailer the other day. It also has the distinction of being a rare Thursday (6/4) release on PSN. Anyone else checking this game out?
I can see the comparisons, but the combat is much harder in The Witcher 3....tougher, but more rewarding
I'm still going to pick this up at launch, play through the single player portion to get a feel for the gameplay and weapons. However, when it comes to team-based games, communication and coordinating is key for me. I'm well aware that there are some who don't need that stuff, and to each their own. I've played enough multiplayer to know how much it sucks when you're playing with randoms and because they have a bad game they leave mid-match (regardless if we're winning...
I've read many people saying it looks easy on here (comment section tough guys) and other social media outlets, but there are those of us like you and I who see this as one hell of a challenge. I really can't wait to play both the Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris. We'll find out soon enough how easy - or hard - these really are. Which of those two modes are you more excited about?
I guess we'll find out in two weeks. Even though that team was brutal to watch (AND LISTEN TO!) it still looks to be quite a challenge. With the right team it may be easy, but I'll keep my opinion of the difficulty and challenge on hold until I actually play it. Looks like it could be a fun mode to hop into if I've done all the daily and weekly things. Having more options is a good thing IMO. Whether or not it sucks remains to be seen.
The only matchmaking is when they pair pre-formed team against another team. You have to form a three-person fire team in order to join.
The complaints are justifiable too, I've been in some matches where I've come in dead last on the team in terms of points, and I'll get some good drops, yet the person who was carrying our team gets nothing. Winning is always important when it comes to team play, but damn, at least hook the heroes up for trying their best!
We definitely agree with you on that, and our writer mentions that as well. For all we know, The Prison of Elders could be a completely different, but fricking awesome co-op experience that complements the Raid mode nicely.
@NewMonday
I have a Hybrid SSD, so I'll be happy to try it out when I get home later on. I'm not sure what kind of HDD Ben has in his PS4, but I will update this post and the article with that info and as well as my results with a Hybrid SSD.
Thank you for the kind words, I just wish we had more pre-patch footage in different locations, but I think it's pretty obvious From Software came through in the clutch with this one!
This is obviously a heated topic right now judging by the many various opinions on the matter. While I don't necessarily agree with Frankie's opinion of Star Wars: Battlefront (personally I'm excited for it to arrive because of the fond memories I had of the PS2 version and it's multiplayer gameplay), I can see why he's making comparisons to the Battlefield franchise; mainly the ones that involved Dice and EA, and the way things played out with Battlefield 4. Sure its a di...
I'm right there with you, the load times weren't an issue for me, but I'm glad it's been improved anyways. I'm more so happy that they cleaned up that nasty bug where the bosses AI would dumb down considerably if the game was left on for long periods of time.
I can understand your reasoning for not picking the game up, I too enjoy a good campaign. I've just always associated the Battelfront franchise with multiplayer, so I guess I just wasn't expecting a robust campaign. But at $60, I can definitely understand why those who expect a full package for a full-priced retail game are disappointed.
I do think we will get that "deep engaging storyline with interesting characters" experience when the Visceral Games devel...
I actually mention that in the podcast. I won't get my hopes up that the cooperative missions are that in-depth, but one can dream!
Once I utilized the item you can find early on to help with the first half of Father G, the second half was really easy. Especially if you have some molotovs and and oil urn. I didn't even have to melee him when he was in beast mode!
I tried my hardest to find one redeemable quality about this game, and other than the fact that the game crashed, which in turn ended my suffering (silver linings!), I couldn't come up with anything. It's truly a painfully bad experience.
