Really in-depth preview of Skyrim!
'Sony and Microsoft appear to be following suit.'
MS is just doing one game and it's much more than an HD version of Halo: CE.
There's multiplayer, 2 graphics engines, and the 10th anniversary of Halo.
$ony and Nintendo are the culprits here
For that, you need a bucket-load of maps, hundreds of game types, constant updates, community support, insane vehicles, and a FUN factor.
If Epic can get that, then yes it's possible
Firstly, this game isn't made by Crytek.
Secondly, Far Cry 2 was made by Ubisoft and NOT Crytek.
Thirdly, It uses the Dunia engine that is a modified version of Cryengine 2, which powered Far Cry 1/2 and Crysis 1.
Fourthly, Crysis 2 is made using Cryengine 3, which is the most beautiful looking multi-plat game on consoles.
Lastly, get your facts right.
Looking at the pre-order charts, I think it can easily cross 6 mil
Was this their plan before the outrage?
PS3 -
God of War 3
God of War collection
God of War origins collection
PSP-
God of War - Chains of Olympus
God of War - Ghost of Sparta
This isn't milking?
You know when you jump off a certain height in Crysis 2 and that red circle appears?
On the PC, it's a perfect Circle.
On the X360, it's a slightly elongated circle.
On the PS3, it kinda becomes like an oval.
Of course, all these small differences do not really matter, but I'm just saying.
Halo HD is not just a graphically bumped up version of Halo: CE. There are multi-player maps, 2 engines are running at the same time plus some of the terminals in the game have been changed, to possibly give some clues about Halo 4.
It's not like Sony's remaster series where games are just rehashed and released.
The 360 version looks good and that's all I care about.
A few engines run better on the 360 than the PS3 (Unreal Engine 3, CryEngine 3)
MS should get out new IP's.
Where's the next PGR or crackdown 3 or Alan Wake 2?
As of now there's only Halo 4 for 2012. There definitely won't be a new Gears/Forza.
Exclusive DLC doesn't matter to me, we NEED more exclusives.
You also need a fast broadband connection to play games with OnLive
Even though the hardware is good, it should be easy to develop for. Devs will take some time to max out the Wii U, but by that time we probably will see the X720 and the PS4, and the Wii U's graphical prowess may not matter any more.
Games that were built from ground up were definitely better on the PSP and had better graphics(GOW: Ghost of Sparta).
I don't know how successful the transfarring thing will be though, cause I'd rather play Story-driven games at home than on the go.
They might include a packaged bundle of the PS3 game and the Vita game for maybe $80.
It definitely won't come for free though.

Sony lost
FF13
GTA IV
Assassin's Creed.
These Franchises are HUGE. And not to forget, Hideo Kojima's future games are going to be multi-platform.
The concept of third-party exclusive developers is slowly beginning to fade.
Games like The First Templar and The Witcher 2 have small budgets, and hence they are only available for the 360 and the PC.
Otherwise it doesn't make sense to limit your audienc...
GTA: Chinatown wars!
The minigames on the PSP using the analog stick was more like a chore but with the Vita's touchscreen, it could be made more exciting
Armor abilities bring about a diverse gameplay. Jetpacks are super-fun(especially when you try to bring down the Wraith).
"I hate that when you are not trying to perform an animation it just does it anyway and that it takes forever to execute. It should be the same amount of time to pull off as a normal assassination. Why do you get penalized for catching a player not paying attention."
Uhh, you hold RB for an assasination and press it for a normal ...
I doubt Skyrim will get delayed, because it targets an entirely different audience(Hardcore RPG players) than COD does.
I just want good gameplay. Frame-rate is not really an issue, as 30 fps is good enough. I'm not going to not buy a game just because it runs on 30 fps, it just doesn't make sense.
