It doesn't cost $25 per disc for the box, manuals and to ship. Considering that games are manufactured in large volumes, the cost of these would be significantly lesser per disc. $10-$15 would be about right.
You're obviously cutting out about 30% of the retailer's share but we also have to include the cost of servers, etc to facilitate downloads for millions of people.
Two different people reviewed the game. Keyword - different.
A Phone is primarily used for making calls and sending messages. A PS Vita's basic functionality is to play games, albeit on the go.
It depends on the user if he/she really needs a separate device to play games on the move, when a phone can offer the same and much more. The games releasing on the Vita and a phone will be different, but when you are on the move, time is limited and you mainly play games to kill time.
Agreed. Conclude the story arc with MW3 and bring us future Warfare after BLOPS-2
What else can they do story-wise? The WW2 and Cold-war are being covered by Treyarch. Infinity Ward can only go into the future now because they will most likely be wrapping up Modern War with MW3.
Activision wanted to do a full-blown space level in MW2 but they cut it because Space Warfare wouldn't be too realistic. They only left a cut-scene from that level.
@Tanir
"people only play cod and halo even if they are bored with it"
Why would people play a game they are bored with?
Halo offers fun and variety and that's why people keep on playing it
@Mezzo
"BF3 will be miles ahead of MW3 in quality. "
Really? How can you be so sure even though both games haven't released yet?
So, if you buy the game used at Gamestop it's ok, but anywhere else, and you're deemed unworthy of accessing the full game?
Is it because Gamestop gives a %age of their pre-owned sales to WB or are are WB scared of pissing off Gamestop?
@Ulf
Good Point, but it still doesn't make sense to charge you for a game that you have already bought. Another option is to return your UMD to a retail store and get a download code for the Vita version of the same game in exchange. This may not work in all countries, but it's a likely option.
Agreed. If you have already purchased the game, it makes no sense for Sony to charge you again just to play 'your' game again on the Vita. A simple solution is to register you games via your PSP on the PSN and then when you sign into your account again using the Vita, you should have the option of downloading and playing those games on the Vita.
But the later models of the PS3 didn't have backwards compatibility with PS2 games, which means that for some reason, So...
By huge MP he means the variety of options, game modes and playlists and NOT the map size
Uncharted 2 released a year before Reach. Reach has already reached almost 9 million sales and is on course to beat Halo 3's sales(which are around 12 million).
Konami said that they were planning to release a trailer for Rising in Winter, and the game is scheduled for a 2012 release. I'm currently playing Peace Walker on my PSP and loving it and I'm definitely stoked for this game.
I wonder if this game is being made on the Fox Engine though?
@Xof - "Are there ~any~ 360 games coming out in the next year worth mentioning? In the past year?"
I'm replying to this. Gears 3 is this year and ME3 is not an exclusive. You could count ME2 as a timed exclusive though.
Next Year - Halo 4
Ryse
Next Alan Wake
Past Year - Alan Wake
Halo: Reach
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Crackdown 2
Metro 2033
Fable 3
Why exactly is it laughable? Is using a different disc for Multi-player and Single Player too much for you? I don't see it as too much of a hard job. PC players have been doing it for a long time, but they don't complain. I see none of the 360 owners complaining. It's only some PS3 fanboys that make such a big deal out of it.
Expect it to release in May since Rockstar have unofficially taken that month( see L.A. Noire, RDR, GTA 4)
@MrDead you 'ignore' IGN yet you click on the review when it clearly says IGN in the title?
It doesn't affect you but yet you cared enough to comment
OT: I really don't care if it's on 1 or 2 or 3 discs. As long as the game's good it doesn't matter.
Agreed. Not even going to give this website hits. There have been way too many articles about this with the same rehashed points used over and over again
Read the text. Forget about the score.
