The problem with most people is that they go in to a fighting game and expect to be good right from the start.
Fighting games are not like other genres because you are given tools and its up to you to learn how to use them. Unfortunately most games are designed for the lower common denominator to be good at (COD) so when they try a fighting game and cant win straight away, they just abandon the game and say it sucks.

1.All kostumes can be unlocked, the pre order gets you to it early.
2.If you buy new then the online pass is a non issue and if you are a "fighting nut" you would know how insignificant an online pass cost is in comparison to how much time you will play using it.
