Nice post! I agree with what you put. Although, about Chris' life changing event - does anyone really give a shit about Chris Redfield as a character? I mean, none of the characters in Resident Evil have ever really been interesting. Why does Capcom insist on forcing these characters and tired old over arching plot down our throats?

For the record, RE4 didn't invent the 'over the shoulder' view. Many games had it before. Freedom Fighters springs to mind.

While I do think the game is good and it's genuinely nice to see a true JRPG among most of the shit that classifies as gaming nowadays, I think the scores this game has been getting have been a bit...inflated as a result. The game is far from perfect and has issues here and there, yet I've seen a LOT of 'perfect' or near perfect scores and they all seem to credit the game for being a reminder that JRPG's exist and perhaps the last of it's kind etc. That's all well ...

Thank you for your post, Tidus. I understand the reasoning from the retailers point of view - I just disagree with it. Admittingly, this game was a bad example to express my opinion on - but take something like Twisted Metal. Pre-ordering it at GameStop gave you a code to unlock Axel, a character that wasn't going to be available for another week or two for everyone else. That's bullshit. Or the games that offer maps and unlockable weapons that you have to buy separately otherwise - s...

I didn't say it was necessary, but why couldn't this shit just be part of the main product as a nice little extra? For instance, The Witcher 2 came with the Making of DVD, Soundtrack, Map, and more. That was just the regular edition! Of course not all companies do this and that is quite an excessive amount of stuff to add, but it would just be nice every now and then to see them go the extra mile and throw in a couple of bonus items.

So fucking sick of this pre-order bonus bullshit. Just release the game with everything you made for it included. Jeez.

This is The Sun we're talking about here. The Sun. Enough said.

How fucking arrogant do you have to be to release a GOTY edition for something that never even won or was worthy of the title in the first place. For shame.

Am really liking the look of this game.

Nice to see Sega supporting their title but all the updates in this patch should have been included day one.

When will people understand that a lot of the things in these games are just NOT meant to be seen in true 3 dimensions and realistic visuals?

5148d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

THIS is what I've been talking about. Too much emphasis toward online multiplayer, lack of local split screen multiplayer, DLC and 'incomplete' games shipping with issues that on too many occasions break the game or make it unplayable at a certain point. I'm sick of the release first, patch later mentality that seems to result in 99% of games being bugged to the dick upon release. Where are the games with secrets and unlockables that COULDN'T be acquired through purchasing...

Well let's face it, other than Halo 4 - the 360 hasn't exactly got much of an 'exclusive' line up this year, so I'm sure they're just grasping at straws and getting any kind of exclusive content before anyone else. I own both a PS3/360 and a gaming PC and yeah it sucks...but this is the kind of thing that's made me boycott the rest of this generation of gaming. DLC, timed exclusives for multiplatform titles, lack of equal support on multiplatform titles, release fi...

While I don't speak as highly as most of you do about Downpour, I wouldn't say it was the worst. However, I get the feeling when playing it that the game is being held together by duct tape. What I mean by that is it's just so technically messy. Glitches, poor presentation, framerate issues, bugs, it's just a cockfuck of issues that really bring the game down.

I can't help but feel that this franchise is now being made by fans of the original games, yet th...

@SpecialK

Yeah Hideo did struggle with MGS4. Bare in mind, it wasn't even his intention to continue the story past MGS3. As a result, we get a game that (although brilliant in design) resorts to using a simple explanation for everything that comes off in a desperate attempt to wrap up the story. Hideo HIMSELF wants to be done with the story. Fan demand got the better of him I guess. MGS4, the character of Snake being tired and wanting to die was almost like Hideo himself ...

I love God of War as much as the next guy, but after 5 games, not a whole lot has changed and as fun as it is to use brutally rip people in half - this game better do something new otherwise I'm going to be disappointed.
