This game has pretty much been doomed from the get-go. Is anyone even interested in this?
Looking forward to this! The LBP series seems to have continuously added features and mechanics to make it feel fresh and expand upon an already strong foundation. Count me in!
That's nice - but people who are playing a game called 'Farming Simulator' I doubt care much about the graphics.
4K is the inevitable advancement in graphical power - but the speed of progress (with games) will only go as quick as the consoles that power them, and we're only now starting to reach 1080p. This will, no doubt, send the PC gamers in a frenzy. Hey, I was primarily a PC gamer myself. But unfortunately, it's just how things are done nowadays.
We must remind ourselves that graphics do not make a good game. Games that feature original characters, a well executed art sty...
Really... a let's play, of GTA 5? Come on, N4G.
Why must there be a resolve? That is the entire POINT of the story. After all the fighting, all the loss and tragedy, things are not really any better off than when they started. It's a depressing story that had a depressing end. What did you expect? Did you want to see them ride off into the sunset? This is what makes the ending so excellent. It defies the rules of storytelling. Neil Druckmann done something incredible and mostly unheard of in this day and age - forced us to come up with...
Leave it alone. The ending was fantastic as it is. Why continue their story and sap away every ounce of profoundness it had? Jeez. It just loses it's emotional weight and impact. Without spoiling it - some dialog is shared, then the screen cuts to black and the credits roll. You're left with YOUR IMAGINATION. You can debate yourself the events following the game. Why must you all insist on being SHOWN everything? Why must we see someone die onscreen to accept they're dead? Why can...
Well obviously they're going to say that. As would Sony, Nintendo, whoever. It's a little thing called advertising. It's a new concept, I know.
I agree the co-op would have best been left out altogether, but to make a fully fledged cooperative campaign work, they would have had to rework a lot of the puzzles, layout and probably just didn't work. I have no doubt that Oddworld Inhabitants/JAW had at least considered it, but it probably effected the flow and feel of the game. This is a single player experience.
I do, however, see a lot of people speedrunning this beast.
Seeing Abe on my latest game news brings such a smile to my face. It reminds me of a time when we had creative and original artists who weren't afraid to try something new and bold. Very seldom nowadays do we have characters this original, and games that can subliminally incorporate some very mature and adult themes, while wrapping it all up in an accessible, funny, and most importantly - fun product.
That's right - generalize and accuse an entire community of people who own a piece of plastic to justify your argument on a completely unrelated topic with the sole reason being to cause bickering amongst a group of people behind a computer screen.
Good job!
Going back on topic - it's nice to see GameStop give people a cheaper alternative to play the TLOU:R.
"Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a beautiful remake that irons out nearly all of the problems and limitations of 1997’s Abe's Oddysee while bringing its best qualities to the fore. This ground-up remake looks and feels fresh enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with any modern 2D platformer — evidence that Abe's Oddysee really was ahead of its time."
This is all I needed to know. Confirmed my expectations. Can NOT wait to play this!
One of the defining games of my childhood. Claiming that I'm excited for this game is a severe understatement.
It'll never happen.
Oh look, a disc inside a case! Who would have thought?!
There's really no need for a sequel. The ending of TLOU left us thinking and had great emotional impact. This impact would have far more of lasting impact if there were no further games in to continue it. The incredible writing and especially the ending, wouldn't feel as great if there was something to continue it. Why can't it just be a one off experience that will always remain a classic.
Yes, I understand a sequel most likely wouldn't follow the same charac...
The ending didn't leave it open for a sequel. It was supposed to a somber and thought provoking ending, that if followed by another game, would have all it's initial emotional impact ruined.
Why must people demand more and more? The Last of Us was, I think, a masterful single experience that truly doesn't need a sequel.
The phrase 'No shit, Sherlock.' springs to mind. It's a prototype. What did you expect? Animations are only bare-bones, levels are incomplete. Shit, the whole concept of the game could still change at this point.
...some people.
I will admit it was probably too early to show and should have perhaps kept it internal, but if you're that naive to think this video is representative of a possible final product - then wow.
Thank God for that. The Sims is shockingly boring.
Where are those 300,000 servers to prevent this kind of thing?
