the maximum bitrate for DVD is severely lower than Blu-Ray as well. DVD's stream much less information. Storage space isn't the only advantage to a Blu-Ray disc.

The old NES games have already made their money back on their initial release, so money made now is residual. This is a new game made now, so I don't mind paying a little extra for development costs. If this does well, maybe we will get more retro goodness.
