Some of the updates might be due to stability reasons. However, some might be for Blu-ray compatibility. Some people still use this for their physical media player.
I think the PS3 version is the only version that can support all 6 players locally.

Except Arkham's buzzing around Batman's head simply SCREAMS Spider-Sense. That being said, playing both feels completely different. Yes, it is all about crowd control, but Batman's is close-quartered. Spider-Man's uses the entire gameplay area.
It is also for people like my son who thinks it is always his turn to use the device every time he hears the beep.

The game plays decently, but it isn't what I would call the direction I care the franchise to go, personally. Imagine a Sonic game where you the scenery is more realistic looking, levels can be completely ignored to complete the game, and the player never fights Robotnik.
It felt more like a tech demo than anything else.
