:O Oh my god, a female gamer with a PS3, so girl gamers do exist *Faints* Tell me, where can I find these mythical creatures?
OT
Wow, look at all these stock holders arguing over sales; I mean seriously who the f- cares?! At first I did jump in the arguing because I wanted to cheer my favorite system, however now it's the same rehashed, tired arguments. As I mentioned before I play games not sales, real gamers would do the same thing.
There's a few PS3 games (and a Bluray) I bought from other regions since they weren't available here in the US; no I don't buy them often however the option to have region-free consoles does help for those rare moments. If the PS1/2 was open region there's a few games I would have paid to own as well, only option is either emulators or modded consoles.
What kills me the most, there's still people who argue in favor of this, I asked why and the first 2 words out of their mouth "Live and Halo."
My hate towards GameStop is the unfair buyback pricing they have, and how they sell used games -$5 less than new; at the same time I don't want someone out of a job, I just wish they sold at a cheaper price, or at least buy back games at a more fair price. What MS is doing is straight robbery, then try to spin "media" as the bad guy.
There's a BIG difference between protecting your investment, and ripping customers off.
All this proves is the more someone whines the more someone will say "fine, we will fix YOUR issues" instead of "If you don't want second hand sales ruining your business, ask the community what YOU need to do to fix it." It's more of a simple case of community and companies having massive miscommunication.
It's wishful thinking, too bad that's all it is. If anything they will raise the price claiming something else is causing "low sales."
@gin
You purchase those programs you mentioned for 1 use (sometimes multiple depending), so in theory you could buy Windows however never use it, sell for a higher $, and no one would ever notice because it hasn't been used prior to someone selling it (again unless it's a multi license). All your paying for is some sort of phone tech support (and even then sometimes it's still paid), and updates you really don't need outside the occasional "oops." ...
I vote for Microsoft to drop out, and Sega to come back in the console business, so it can be the mid 90's all over again; Sega, Nintendo, and Sony.
OT
I'm half tempted to get a Wii U myself for a few exclusives however I'll wait for some sort of price drop. I'm actually glad in a sense because now Microsoft will HAVE to make $ sacrifices to keep the fanbase at least for another generation otherwise they already lost before even starting.
Hard to believe; if it did get hacked that just looks even worse for MS after the reveal. At this point I wonder how the fanbase will feel "if" it did get hit.
Edit
Ok from the recent comments it looks like the list is fake; wonder why someone would troll the internet just to make MS look even worse right now. Sometimes there's this thing called "too much" and that's what's going on, some take this fanboy war way too seriousl...
About time
5. This alone is a deal breaker for me; I hate the idea I can't test games before buying them from friends if it's the only method at the time (Internet down, etc)
4. What if my Internet is down longer than a couple of days? What if Microsoft gets some type of service issue where it's down for extended time frames?
3. Doesn't appeal to me one bit; to some it's a nice feature because it's new (to some, to others it's the same ...
Gamers like you fegam are the reason why a lot of gaming companies try to keep a lot of the "online passes" and other nonsense to a minimum - they need to remember not everyone has the luxury of limitless internet, get paid good money, and have the time to invest in their favorite hobby. If more gamers like you make your voice heard someone like MS will have to think about the others who have limited to no access; then again they have people on their side who will argue "well ...
While you've been gaming longer than I've been alive, I can say with confidence that Console gaming is NOT dead (like you mentioned in your article). There's a ton of people I talk to outside the internet that wish consoles were back to what they used to be; gaming machines first and multimedia second. I know the Internet at the moment has the louder voice when it comes to decisions regarding what and how generations are formed, at the same time certain companies still have the g...
Never go full retard.
PS1 and 2 controllers worked on each console, I remember when the PS2 first came out we used to use PS1 controllers and leave the 2 controllers in the plastic until we needed them; Sony even stated the Move controllers now will work on the PS4, however with the way the DS4 works with the PS4 it makes sense why they won't work. With the 360 and "One" unless there's something I missed design-wise I don't see why they would make you buy new controllers.
Not to troll, but the good is Sony stock went up.
Sorry I had to say it.
OT
The article mentioned everyone having to purchase some license for the game up to full retail - that alone is a deal breaker because I like to at least demo a game before purchasing it, and Sony already mentioned having a demo for every and all games, I haven't seen any reports of Microsoft adopting that type of system.
I'd also like to add the crowd response on PlayStation 4 was far more energetic, more positive, and far more interested in what was next; on the Xbox side it seemed the energy wasn't there, and they were trying way too hard to focus on what the OS can do and less on how it can really benefit gamers as a whole.
I'd argue the conference was more of a "grasping at straws" event; outside showing the console they really had nothing else there that catered to ...
Knowing Microsoft they will spend so much in advertising to make people believe "millions" are on this idea; and here in the US it will work - however overseas not so much. The conference alone was almost a waste of time, and the post show was an even bigger joke; at first I did want to hold all opinions until after the reveal, and now I'm even less inclined to purchase the new Xbox. I know the new thing is "wait till E3" however so much damage has been done there...
Finally someone else besides me who remember that console from Sears.
I'm hoping it's one of those they didn't cut from final product before release, that would piss me off. However if it's "legit" extra or side quests then I'm not as upset; either way I'm still with you though.
