You are not reading correctly.. The 360 has a 1080p native and can also upscale to 1080p if needed.
The PS3 supports 1080p also, which by the way most of PS3 games are 720p, but cannot upscale. This also causes a problem for users who have TVs that do not support 720p and only have 1080i. PS3 will end up displaying in 480p.

what happens if blu-ray fails? What will Sony do then?
I still don't know how Sony could do a software upscaler since this would affect overall CPU performance available to games.
May I ask why we should take your version of how the PS3 Cell works and how powerful it is? All I've heard is you quoting numbers from Sony's PowerPoint presentation and running with that. Every company exaggerates their numbers by using benchmarks that gives the greatest results. Do you have official documentation/white paper on the PS3 Cell? Just curious as to what makes you the expert.
I would also like to know what videos you are referring to that proves the Cell "kicks as...
I'd have to agree with The Truth. Wii it seems is what the consumers want. At this rate, it will sell more Wiis than 360 and PS3 combined. I can tell you that my sister, who's not into video games, bought a Wii for her 4yr old and she plays it more. In our household, my kids are really enjoying the Wii. We also have the 360 and the PS3 and the PS3 is just a dust collector now.

And your opinions are unbiased and right? Atleast Xbox fans here are giving you some facts on review launch scores, but you just keep sputtering out your own biased opinions.
If GOW's graphics were toned down to say RFOM/COD2 quality, then yes, I think the 360 could handle that many things on screen at once. GOW went for graphics/tactics where as RFOM went with chaos and lesser graphics.
So far, PS3 has been getting great reviews as a Blu-ray player and not so good as a gaming console. And I was hoping I bought a PS3 to play great games.
Son doesn't touch the PS3.. plays with Zelda (Wii) and 360 (GOW). Brother and brother-inlaw came over today and I showed off the PS3 RFOM. They turned it off in 10min cause they said graphics sucks compared to GOW and made a comment that graphics took a step back.
Even if they are 1st gen games, shouldn't the PS3 games look better since the PS3 is supposedly much more powerful than the 360?

I don't think it actually does 720p to 1080i conversion.
I thought, from what I read, that it just changes the order of how it displays, but if your tv doesn't have 720p it still goes down to 480p. Could be wrong.. I'll try to look it up.

I have a PS3 and this game looks good and that's it. Its fun, but just not sure how much of a lasting appeal it will have.
Now as far as GTHD, its backrounds are great, but everything else is just OK. Of course it sucks that you start with a slow ugly car :)
I downloaded the game was not impressed. Backrounds (mountains) were pretty, but everything else was ok. I know its just a demo, but PS3 fans are making this demo out to be some killer game.
I don't think this was fixed. If we're talking about if TV doesn't support 720p but has 1080i then it will downscale to 480p. That has not been fixed.
I've downloaded the demo and it looks good, but still not the same as the E3 demo. Also the in-game looks a lot less detailed than when the game goes in to demo mode. This could be because it's a scripted sequence and doesn't require any AI.
the demo also and it looked good, but I would agree that its not great. It does look like a higher res version of GT4. Sorry... The mountains do look good though.
Its good, but not sure about the lasting appeal. Also, and it could just be me, but when the game goes on a demo mode, it looks much better than the actual in-game graphics. The demo has more detail and a lot more hectic.

I another post I said that my nephew walked into a bestbuy and bought a PS3/60gig without a pre-order or lottery/ticket. Now, my son's friend just said his dad just bought him a PS3 from Costco.
Not good if you can just walk in and get it this easily and especially during xmas.
