My impression on the Nvidia debacle: Nvidia is upset because the pc market is shrinking every year (reason: tablets and smartphones), and AMD secured both the Sony and Microsoft console contracts. Meaning that Nvidia stands to loose marketshares to their archrival AMD. Hense the PS4 trashing.
Talking trash about PS4 because it on paper is 3x weaker than Nvidias Titan, is as stupid as trashing the PC for being extremly underpowered when compared to Supercomputers capable of several petaflops.
No matter how powerful your PC's are, I still won't be able to run my favorite games. Why, because they are only on Playstation. Maybe this is a foreign consept for you Pcgamers, but some of us actually care more about the games themselves (as in gameplay), than the g...
Honest opinion I can respect, but saying that BF4 looks better because it runs on a more expensive PC, is just plain dumb. And Another thing. All this nonsense about comparing PS4 with a High-End PC rig, with two different games at that, is also dumb. Grow up people!
And remember Killzone SF was running on early devkit with only 1,5GB available to devs. And was running on aproximation hardware, which do not contain actual PS4 chipset, as it is not ready yet. Only when actual ...
Why you xboxfanboys should worry:

Just saying...
And if the Durango/720 is so great, then why have Microsoft not presented it yet. Why were they absent from GDC. Looks to me that MS underestimated Sony. Only time will tell, but the silence from MS speak volumes IMO
Number of GPU's in PS4 alpha devkit = 1
This GPU's TFLOP count in single precision = 1,84
Final specs = ??? (until Sony presents them at E3)
Rumour 1: PS4 APU's CPU upclocked to 2ghz, due to multiplier GPU should then be 1GHZ. Equal to 2,3TFLOPS.
Rumour 2 (HipHopGamer): PS4 to have upgrade slots (plural) real reason for not showing ps4box. Hiphopgamer said the reason sony will have upgrade slots is to be competitive towards PC-market, which allways ...
In other words when the CPU uses the full 20GB/s, then the GPU with 156GB/s can pump out 2,6GB of data per frame with 60fps target. That's not bad at all, and more than enough for 1080p60fps gaming. Crysis 2 on Very High setting and 1080p resolution uses if I remember correctly about 1,8GB VRAM on the gfx-card on a PC. That should mean at best no more than 1,8GB of data per frame. And that's not exactly an ugly game. Seems we can safely assume great looking graphics from the PS4.
2 questions:
1 Why do PC-gamers throw so much hate on console-owners?
2 Why do Console-owners gloat and tease when somethings are/might be better on consoles?
Likely answer: People like to argue.
Get a life people!
He was claiming that the gameplay feels better on ps3 due to ps3-controller. He didn't say ps3 had better graphics than pc, that would be silly. Ps3 is now 7 years old... Give it a break console-haters! Let us have this one...
Nvidia might have a little better graphics, but you can't put 2TFLOP faces in a game. Can you imagine how many TFLOPS would be needed in order to run a game like GTA with every face in the game rendered with that quality. There is no Homecomputer of any kind that would be able to run it. With only 2 of those faces, a single Titan would run out of juice. Whereas QD claim they will use their faces in game without reducing quality at all. Then again Nvidia makes 3d-cards, not games. My point...
From a technical standpoint I personally think the Nvidia looked best, but as many comment. The face, although very nice looking, did not look real. Looked more like a robot.
From an artistic standpoint the QD face looked much more like a real person, the animations was superb. Behaved very human like. Technically not as impressive as Nvidias face, but personally I'd take realistic behavior over looks any day. Specially when both are rendered this good.
retirement from that 1 race, not the entire game.
PD check out this Oculus Rift demonstration.
Oculus Rift VR-support to truely make the player feel as though he/she is really in the car. Oculus rift tracking the players every move. Add in playstation Eye2 3d-cam tracking the players hands in regard to steering wheel and gearchanger and matching positions ingame to avoid confusion. Now that would really elevate Gran Turismo 6 into something really special.
PS! Polyphony Digital, check out the Oculus Rift. You will love it!

Remember guys, this is a rumour until EA says otherwise. 720p might make sense on the xbox720, since the DDR3 memory is nowhere as fast as the GDDR5 in ps4. But 720p on ps4 makes no sense at all. The Ps4 can easely put out 2,5GB of data per frame (memoryspeed / 60fps), which should be more than enough for 1080p. maybe they are refering to 3d, because in order to run 60fps in 3D you need to render 120fps. 60 for each eye. I'm convinced that Battlefield 4 will support 60fps in 2D. I mean if...
After reading through your comments, I am thinking that Sony, and the developers that have praised the ps4, needs to prove the Ps4 capabuilities. Not on a stage, but on the floor (E3) with gamers playing. Not PR people. And the quality needs to be higher in order to truely impress us.
Pc gamers seem to quite unified in the belief that PS4 will only be capable of 2012 PC graphics. And until Sony proves that statement wrong with gamers on the E3 floor, I must confess that the P...
Top-End PC's are more powerful than PS4, fact. Most people do not own a pc this powerful, fact. Most people own pc's with less than the power of the ps4, fact. Pc suffers from a lot more piracy compared to the ps3, fact.
With this in mind. Is it really that strange that the developers are lining up to jump on the PS4 train. Less piracy, more balanced compared to the ps3 and the fact that pc's come in all shapes and sizes. The PS4 is designed by developers, for de...
On a sidenote. I read on extremetech( http://www.extremetech.com/... that they find the use of next-generation a little puzzling ("It isn’t merely a CPU inside the PS4, though — it’s an APU! Bundled with the CPU, on the same die, is what Sony is calling “a next-generation Radeon” GPU. Beyond that, all we know is that the GPU has 18 com...
T900, I know not all 8GB can be used for graphics. OS will according to vgleaks take up no more than 512MB of ram. That leaves 7,5GB. 2-2,5GB of ram should be more than enough for all non-graphics related code on a console game. That leaves 5GB for the Gpu to play with. I am not saying that this is what all developers will do. All I am saying is that the 5GB figure I used, is realistic.
I know that even if the PS4 can dedicate 5GB to graphics, that alone does not guarantee th...
Do you Delboy even know what Unified Memory means. It means that they can allocate the 8GB Gddr5 memory any way they want. Memory bandwith / 30 FPS (console standard for many games) = 5,86 GB max detail per frame active throughput with CPU and GPU combined. This means they can and some developers probably will allocate around 5GB for graphics. Not many PC GPU cards can do the same. And common for them all is that they are rather expensive...
What will be interesting is to see...
Some pcgamers still think They know everything. Epic says flat out that ps4 is a better gaming machine than most pc's. Most...not every single one. To call epic liars is not a great move in my book. What do you pcgamers know of games development anyway, and how much experience do you have with development for the ps4. None...though so. Too many selvapointed experts on these forums IMO
