I like your reasons but Nintendo does not share your sentiments. When they say the Wii U won't be cheap, that says $350 or more to me. An expensive console to me is &400+. Let's just say between $350-$400 for the Wii U.
That makes sense. My first n4g article ever was me talking about a September release with pikmin 3 and September is usually when big AAA titles start coming out. Games like FIFA, NHL, GTA V will be out by then.

Nintendo has said many times we won't see the wii u until after E3. They also said it would debut their next fiscal year which starts April 1st. They also said they are debuting the final build at E3. The only reason I can see them releasing it early is because a bunch of third party games are coming out in March like ninja gaiden and mass effect 3.
It's sad. The only games I'm buying this year so far for the 360 is halo 4 and mass effect 3 (already pre-ordered collectors edition) My wii is dead too. Have to rely on my ps3 until wii u I guess. I use my PS3 now for multiplatform games.

@gigreen maybe because Nintendos audivence prefers gameplay over hardware specs. Hardware isn't everything. The last 3 gaming generations has been won by the weakest console but own because of its diverse library of games.
I know the wii u is capable of true 1080p, I know it has better hardware than the PS3 (asit should, seeing as how it's 6 years old now) and that's all I need.

I hate CoD with a passion but these articles are trying to hard to degrade it and bring it down. Yeah it sold 452k less, but overall it still is one of the highest selling games in the UK. CoD will not go down this gen, maybe next gen.
The wii u specs havent been released yet and you are already claiming its not that much more powerful than the PS360? We know it's based off of the RV770 GPU from AMD which is essentially a Radeon 4000 series, which smokes the PS3 GPU out of the water. You got revs claiming it will be the better version for multiplats because it will have more content and true native 1080p.

Nintendo sells all hardware at a profit. The 3DS is making a profit, it's just that the profit margin is not a high.
Sony stated they didn't start generating profits until June 2010 with the ps3
Vita is not expected to make a profit for the first 3 years (they are selling it at a loss)
15 million xboxes in Europe isn't a failure, but it's not something to brag about.
