@MarlinFan Wearelegion said he'd pay if you could find someone who can prove they lost CC info in that hack, not prove CC info in general was stolen. AKA the number of people whos CC was actually affected by that hack is quite small. He didn't say it didn't happen, Lord Maim did.
@bitbydeath. Steam servers are paid for every time someone buys a game(practically all digital=steam gets a piece of every game) N4g servers are paid for by advertising and donations. , same as pretty much every website ever. Psn and Xlive are not all digital, therefore they dont get as large a piece of every sale.
@jrshankill digital games dont require an internet connection. PS Plus titles that you got for free, thats a different story. But i have dozens of digitally purchased games on both system and not a single putchased game locked me out while the networks were down. So yes, your ps4 can totally play digital games while offline, stop spreading misinformation and hate mongering because of your ignorance.
Setting a static ip does not increase speed
@Dragonknight Yes most people don't have static ips, but a given ip is not going to change in the middle of an attack. So why can they not identify the ip addresses that are producing Gb's worth of requests? Or my suggestion earlier was to QoS the mac address of every registered system and shut down all traffic outside of those? Yes it would suck for internet traffic and new users, but at least all existing millions of users would be fine. Once again, I'm not an expert on thes...
Playing a wheel with no feed back is like wings with no sauce...stupid. Wothout FF there is really no reason to buy a wheel
@DragonKnight if its flooding the servers with traffic why is it not possible to QoS known addresses (every console on the network) and drop packets? Or a similar technique? Im not a ddos expert, but it seems that existing techniques should be able to at least mitigate major damage like this weekend.
@OculusRift the only thing that you have to really grind for are the aircraft/tanks/super cars...my brother and I habe gone through the missions finding which ones pay more, and its possible to get 100k an hour through missions. Youre really blowimg this thing out of proportion, or you're incredibly lazy. Even having to grind out 1.5 million for something sweet doesnt take 72 irl hours, unless youre doing it by robbing convenience stores
Hardly misinformation, as of when i went to bed (6 hours ago, both xbox live AND psn were down for me, for a majority of the evening yesterday. I just woke up, ill be checking it shortly
@Clunkyd PC fanboys aren't salty at all, because our "2k PC" can easily match the best looking racer on a $400 console. We just don't have the retail software available. Just because Driveclub isn't on pc hardly means our computers aren't capable of that level of graphics. And just to clarify, Project Cars looks better however it's not available at retail yet so it isn't a fair example. You're correct about optimization, it does go a long way, but tha...
@Septic
If it becomes the standard, I will stick to the many generations previous and enjoy my physical machines. I refuse to use any current cloud based service, not a chance in hell am I going to waste my money and buy a gaming system thats entirely cloud based. I don't care what exclusives are on it, or how they look and play. Cloud based = guaranteed no purchase from me, regardless of industry, service, company or standard.
@Mmo Why is that a concern? 60 degrees is well within limits of pretty much any decent psu...on the high end, but still good.
O.t. i keep my x1 on a completely open glass desk with absolutely no restricitions on airflow, and my xbox gets very warm. Its not hot, but its a far cry from "cool to the touch" i clean the vents every month or so as well. I would be very surprised if your x1 was cool to touch after any length gaming session especially in what sounds lik...
@bitbydeath Male prostitutes.
Its not the companys responsibility (Whether that company is Sony or someone else) to refund money based on fraud claims...its the affrcted persons responsibility to contact the banks amd dispute. If i get a credit card statement that shows fraudulent purchases from "Macys" for example...do i call them demanding they refund my money? No, i call the bank and say my CC has been compromised and file a claim that way. This has nothing to do with Sony's consumer friendliness, it has...
@HiddenMission Should Sony lock his account? Sure, until he goes through the motions of re-securing his account. Temporary refund? Definitely not. Sony is not liable for any unauthorized purchases made with your account. If you fucked up and gave your credentials away, or they were weak enough someone was able to break in, that's your own fault and is in no way the responsibility of Sony. The proper way in ANY fraudulent situation like this is to contact the bank. Dispute the charge...
And its still barely playable for some...tried playing a couple days ago, took forever to find a match, when it did find a match it was 3v3, until the game actually started then it took an opponents guest, and put him on my team, making it 4v2. After that i tried playing multiple playlists, only able to find a game in the big team battle playlist, it frpze several times while searching for games. That shit isnt fixed.
@ninsigma the x1 only uses something like 40w in standby, and generates minimal heat...it doesnt just work 100% of the time, if an update comes through it will install, and then go back to doing nothing. If youre willing to let your machine run in a cupboard, you shouldnt have any problems letting it sleep in a cupboard
@king-u-mad can you explain why falling through the world is unlikely to be a bug?
@Alexious @pumpactionpimp
I'm with you 100%. I thought the days of having to buy a new gpu every cycle was over years ago, but they're bringing it back with bad ports and optimization. With specs like this, its like they design it for ps4/x1, then do a straight port and and expect to just brute force it with system specs to overcome lack of coding. It's ridiculous and unnecessary.
@Tapewurm lol a new Sega, to launch with sequels of nearly every major ip? I thought asking for just a new sega was too much to hope for :P
