Actually, it makes perfect sense. Since the start of this gen, we've been bombarded with articles/opinions/comments that the cross gen difference is negligible (although to me the difference is huge). This article is just showing that with this game, the differences should be noticeable to really anyone.
@incendy35
Just to make sure you know the difference, GB/s means GigaBYTES per sec, Gb/s means GigaBITS per sec. Your examples sata/usb are supposed to be Gb/s, not GB/s. Massive difference, as 8 gb=1 GB. The bus speeds are in GB (and ps4 bus speed is at least 20 GB/s I believe, not sure about x1)
Replacing with a modern SSD would definitely be the answer. SATA II tops out at 300MB/s...a 5400rpm drive is going to use less than 1/3 of that bandwidth. A low end ssd will fill that up, providing better than triple the speed. SATA III is hardly necessary, all they need to do is fully utilize the bandwidth in SATA II.
Yeah, CoD 1/2 were some of the best fps when they came out, now look what happened. Annual releases will destroy any franchise imo. Maybe not in sales (as cod proves) but most definitely in quality.
I just bought a used x1 last week for 400...I blacked out the camera but I actually like the voice commands...being able to control it while im doing other stuff is better than expected. I wouldnt pay extra to buy it, and ill NEVER leave the cameras open, but its worth using the voice (for me). Now the biggest turnoff for me is Gold paywall for all the basic features. I cant snap netflix (this is literally the only feature i wanted on the x1, amd cant use it because I wont pay for gold). I...
How do you ignore something thats pretty much always smashed in your face over and over? Theyre trying to sell as much as they can and the only way to do that is advertising the microtransactions on pretty much every menu screen, some even do it in game. Not every game is guilty, I admit. But there are a lot of games that make it impossible to ignore.
lol this is exactly what I was thinking...theyre not really "answering" anything. Not very well thought out imo.
Well probably not, because up until now the jump from generation to generation has been pretty large. So super mario bros actually did look next gen.
Honestly any racing game is allowed to have aliasing...when youre moving (as is 99.999999% of any racing game) its really not noticeable. I never thought of nfs as being "jaggie city", because I didnt notice it moving at 100+ mph lol
Has to be a joke...or hes never seen any racer but forza. The premium cars on gt5/6 models look almost as good on last gen (idk what forza looks like on 360, but I imagine its also almost as good. Forza 5 is wildly unimpressive in the graphics (still enjoy the hell out of it). To say that these 2 games cant compete is one of the most obscene comments ive heard recently lol
Not quite. Its hard because you dont deal a lot of damage and enemies have a lot of health. Unless youre using abilities with high interrupt your attacks dont really stop them from attacking you. I said MINOR hit detection issue, as in every once in a while certain attacks dont hit, not a lpt and thats not the reason the game is hard. So no its not quite "simple as that". From the sounds of it youre basing that statement on reviews, not experience. Its not nearly as broken as ...
Honestly the only really negative things I have to say about the game are about the massive fluctuations in framerate (goes from 60 to sub 30 near instantly) and sometimes sketchy hit detection. Both of those are problems I can live with. The skill/feat trees are solid, I enjoy the combat (it can be challenging for sure), the story is nothing great but thats not gamebreaking. Im only a few hours in, but so far id give it 7/10 personally.
They can't add or subtract features for a simple redesign, they can only adjust the features already in place.
@Dynasty2021
Please tell me where this plethora of pc's are that can run this at 8k? Much less run it fine? You would have to pay thousands upon thousands just to get this game to RUN at 8k, to say nothing of the shit(1-3) fps youd be getting.
But if Sony isn't around, it will be harder to get the parts/servicing for the tv.
This is true, but to update the ps4, go to settings, hit system update. If I don't want the system to download when in standby its in the options menu as well, why is it necessary for an entire article just to outline how to do this? It seems overly complicated to me.
I'm a massive SW fan, but I'll pass on anything from DICE/EA...I can't understand why anyone would be excited for this after BF4...I have no faith in them to produce a not broken game, especially considering all the similarities between Battlefront and Battlefield. Until they prove me wrong (which I don't think they will after the last 2 battlefields) I will not buy this.
@fenome
We share a birthday then! And well both be celebrating with Bound by Flame :) im pretty excited for it, im stoked for a solid rpg on ps4
You may be correct, but what all the fanboys are ignoring is the it doesnt have to be progressive scan to put out 1920x1080 pixels...it displays them differently than a progrssive picture but at the end of the day, there are still 2 million+ individually rendered pixels.
@Summons75
lol you just proved my point, but you said it like its nothing major. Greatly improved lighting and slightly better textures(we have different definitions of slight btw, thats a large difference). On a static image those are 2 of the 3 major benchmarks(aliasing being the 3rd, of which ps4 is "slightly" better). Honestly if you think the minuscule differences between 360/ps3 are huge, then you should think the difference from gen to gen is insane.
