@Kurruptor @Maxor What you guys are forgetting about is being able to play games for systems you DON'T OWN. This is clutch, and really what justifies the price. You can play 100s of games and you don't have to even own the system they were made for. Is it a must have? No, but the beauty is also in the sub. Say it's an off month for games, I can sub for a month and play a bunch of games. Then cancel it at will.
@Frostypants I'm not sure why you got disagrees, you were definitely correct. A driving game on rails would be....train driving sim lol
@lodossrage you're interpreting incorrectly...the psnow servers that process the game for you to stream are not the same as the servers to play online. The game is being processed by psnow servers, but when you play it, the servers it uses for multiplayer and trophies etc are the ps plus servers
@OmegaShen You do realize power consumption is not directly related to hdd size? AKA you can have a 2tb and a 4tb with identical power consumption
@Snookiegamer Streaming isn't the future of games as long as things like DDoS exist. Imagine if every gamer in the world was only able to stream games over Christmas break during the attacks. Nobody could have played anything at all. As long as service can be interrupted involuntarily, streaming will never be the sole means of acquiring anything, be it games or movies or whatever.
Are you playing online? Ive played nearly a dozen games all local mp and not only has it not crashed, i havent encountered any bugs at all. I actually think it's a great game.
lol so you can go buy 100 games for $10 or less? Sign me up /s...seriously though, use your logic and go buy 2 old games, $10 each. $20 gone, you have 2 games, gratz. That should last you the weekend, maybe 2. What then? Gonna go spend $10 every time you want to play something? Of course not, that's just ridiculous. This service is providing exactly that: A service. A rental service with no time limit and no late fees. I understand this may not be the service for you or it may not...
@spacedelete @evilway I have 30/10 mbps from comcast...psnow has the slightest delay, i would say roughly 200ms from experience...I was playing DOA 5, and played through the single player just fine, didn't try MP tho. The delay I was experiencing was minimal enough to play all but FPS titles comfortably. I never disconnected, and there was no video lag, it was only input lag.
@msbaustx So youve never rented a game or movie then, and im assuming youre against netflix and all other streaming services? This service isn't a replacement for owning games, its a replacement for renting them. Oh yes, lets not forget you dont have to own the console youre playing on...i can play ps3 games on my vita or ps4, etc etc
@FriedGoat So because they're not AAA exclusives means we have barely any games to play? Sorry, but thats just plain ridiculous. PC has the largest library of games out of all systems, simple is that. And KBM is still a superior control scheme, doesn't matter if it's a port or an indie or a AAA exclusive.
Killzone SF mp has no auto aim. A simple google search will prove this.
In accordance with the article, PSN status says heavy network traffic. And it works, for me at least.
@Omnisonne Exactly. Obviously autism or not the dude isn't fit to be out in public without escort, and sure as fuck shouldn't be allowed to carry weapons of any kind, even "defensive". He needs to be put in a hospital if he's really mentally unstable.
Eejanaika Hacking does not inherently imply interruption of service. You can get hacked and never know it. The sole point of DDos os to interrupt service, the definition of hacking is to gain access.
@Haveasandwich comparing his experience to my own, its definitely not misinformation. Everyone was affected differently. Xbox live came up for me at roughly 8 pm on Christmas amd other than a few temporary outages (maybe 1-2 hours) it was up for the weekend. PSN I was able to get logged in first thing in the morning the day after Christmas, and then it was down until Sunday for me. No logging in, no nothing, completely down. It's not really misinformation when he specifically stated ...
I didn't watch the interview because I'm not giving them the hits. Just from reading the comments though, the family thing is total bullshit. My family Christmas was the weekend before, due to that being the only time we could all make it. So here I was, looking forward to a relaxing day gaming with my brother, and nope. Even IF it wasn't bullshit, who the fuck are they to forcibly decide the priorities of millions of people? Exactly. What about all the people getting consol...
@Alithesnake1 im going to point your finger back at you amd say you dont know about the subject matter. Look up the definition of hack. Then tell me ddos is a hack. Even by your definition of hacking, youre twisting the shit out of the words to make Ddos fit in. Network security 101? What the fuck network security class told you ddos is equal to hacking?
Edit: Just to help out, heres the definition of "Hack"

As a collector of all things gaming and a massive FF fan, I would love to have this. However the price is am immediate nope. I can buy 2 AAA brand new games, countless retro titles...or 3 strategy guides for games 15+ years old (and i already have the original strat guides for all 3). Ill pass thanks
@andrewer There's a difference between the Instruction Set Architecture (x86-64) and Micro-architecture (i.e. Intel "Haswell" i7).
@Mrbojingles @randomass171 The anti-consumer part in my eyes is the game being permanently tied to a specific sku, as a way to force fans of those games to effectively spend $200 to play. This isn't like having to have an add-on/peripheral to play a game at all. Add-ons like kinect add functionality that wasn't there previously, to allow games to be built with that added capability. This does nothing like that. Not to mention, the games for those add-ons typically (if ever) are th...
