It's almost like it released 3 months later than them and still managed to sell faster.

Sometimes I really do wonder how you people jump the gun so easily. I mean the release dates are in the article how could you miss that obvious detail -_-

@EDMIX

While I have no interest in defending some of the things Erik said, he Is partially right on the Switch being just as attractive as a secondary system to PC gamers.

"Less games and a lot more weaker? Switch doesn't even have a online that makes sense, yet a PC gamer would want that more then PS4 and XONE? Ummm ok pal"

Um yeh because I know many PC gamers who would pick the switch overy a ps4/XB1.

Yeh even on PC the resolution I play most games on is 1440p which isn't much if a bump up.

Also considering the switch is more of a handheld 720p/1080p is fine. Could be better buts it's fine where it's at.

Given that Nintendo has learnt their lesson when it comes to preventing droughts, I think they'll avoid delaying it.

With that said if it needs to be delayed then that's what they should do.

Didn't they announce something a while back for the Switch that was Senran Kagura related?

Or is this the same thing?

So it looks like Splatoon wasn't a fluke (in Japan at least). I knew it would do well, but I didn't expect this level of success in Japan.

I wonder how long this sales spike will last for. Its worth pointing out that Splatoon 1 sold very slow despite managing 4.5 mil so I wonder how Splatoon 2 performs in lifetime sales.

Looks pretty cool so far. Hopefully they'll show a bit more later in the year.

Maybe a gameplay demo at PSX?

Probably because Indies actually do well on Nintendo systems?

Yeh but I have a phone that I can use as a hotspot and the Switch has a bigger screen.

There's a bunch of places with free wi-fi these days too so im sure you could find situations where someone could find uses for them.

@cha0skinghtmare

I'm doubtful of that to some degree. I mean we all sung the praises of Sony when online was free. But when they adeed a monthly fee people just rolled over and accepted it.

Right now I would rather we get the Wii U's online service than what Nintendo is promising for 2018.

"Who's that pokemon?"

3251d ago 12 agree0 disagreeView comment

True.

But I guess you can argue that with the Switch being portable it's still worthwhile to have them on the system.

"Destiny 2 "replaces" the original game."

I think that also might be one of the problems.

"There was plenty of games, PORTS and new IPs released during the first 6 months"

How many of the titles released during the launch period could we already play on PC/PS3/360? Because it seems like we may be misremembering just how many there were for the PS4/XB1 by comparison to the Switch.

I don't see it killing the momentum but I do see it being a dampener on any move they make in regards to online functionality.

It's early days but I don't have high hopes.

Just for NZ and it looks like this is a move from retailers rather than Nintendo.

I think the main problem right now is that the Gamemaker Studio 2 engine does not support the Switch right now.

Until that changes unfortunately none of the amazing games like Momodora, Flinthook and Deaths Gambit will make their way to the Switch.

If they can't make it at least decent by the end of the beta then they should just go the traditional route.

I'm not expecting an XBL level service but come on it atleast needs to be bearable to use.

Not a huge fan of Ubi's games, but something like South Park would be nice to have.

Anything that doesn't follow the typical Ubisoft formula, I'll be happy to have.

Yeh the movie holds up really well.

But i guess the point is that we've got something that looks like it could've been from a Pixar movie.
