What I wouldn't give to have BFBC2 coming out in 2 weeks rather than Modern Whorefare 2.
The PC side of the games industry rakes in more cash than any other platform, including handhelds.
PC Gaming is a 9.5 billion dollar a year industry with the second highest being the Xbox 360 at about 7 billion.
So yeah, you're on crack if you think PC developers aren't profitable.
Edit: Piracy isn't nearly as big a problem as people believe it to be. And no amount of piracy could ever hurt a PC Battlefield game.
Obviously we like paying for the sever. It's place where we can go 24/7 and play with the same general crowd of people. Why do you think PC gaming is the most social online platform?
We might not add people we like to play with on Steam or Xfire, but it's nice to play with the same group of guys, along with the random pubbers.
It's been like this for more than 15 years, IW. Don't try to change it because you're trying to scheme us into paying $10 for 3 maps.

Christ, we're not expecting IW to host the servers, we want them to give us the TOOLS to host OUR OWN servers. You know, the way PC gaming has been doing it since the mid 90's.

If DICE plays their cards right, Battlefield 3 will be the multiplayer game of the century.

MW2 will be using VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) which is probably the most secure anti-cheat method to date. If you're caught cheating, you pretty much lose your Steam account, or any chance of playing online. You have to re-buy all of your games too, which of some people is hundreds of dollars worth.
There will be more cheaters on Live and PSN.
That extra $10 you pay on your console games goes to Microsoft and Sony. With the extra $10 on MW2 on PC, that's going straight into the grubby hands at Activision.
Paid DLC has never worked on PC. We're not used go forking out tens of dollars on a game post release like you guys are accustomed to. The DLC will get heavily pirated, much like the Fallout 3 DLC was. It's not hard to add a couple new maps to your game folder.
