Yes the R9 m290x is a rebadged 8970m which is a rebadged 7970m. 2 releases old already. This is basically the same GPU in the PS4.
No standard FOV.
Metro Last light is definitely and demanding game, as is Crysis 3. More demanding that either of these is Skyrim with 2k Texture, Flora Overhaul, Bigger Tree, ENB etc etc.

They could but the won't. Sony would rather sell you games you already own again.
I agree. Mantle is a great move and finally PC's will get similar/same optimizations to consoles. I just hope nVidia and AMD and Devs can all play nice and support it.
This is a big win for PC gamers.. Especially if you have AMD hardware right now.
No they unfortunately won't get a 40% increase under crossfire - wishful thinking and we've already seen benchmarks under those conditions. Big increases like that will mainly be from Intergrated graphics systems since Mantle free's up CPU cycles. CPU bound systems stand to benefit the most.
Lol.. That comment says it all about the N4G fanboys.
@ Maxor you close minded bigot.
That's because Tress FX was designed for GCN cards. If you're running nVidia turn off Tress FX ya goofer ;)
Not that hard for most PC's to run Max settings 60fps lately.
Do you post on NBR? You should :)
It will probably be released on PC/Linux first like Valve always do. But it won't be a times exclusive in an official capacity, just porting time.
Lame you kids fighting over exclusives. This will likely launch on PC first, just because its Valve, not because its exclusive. Consoles will both get them unless M$ dig into their wallet again.
Wrong. It's the software and hypervisor they can't crack. Gaming PC's are already well equipped hardware wise.
Is like to throw or give my 360 away and be able to play Forza on my gaming PC.
Kind of semantics really. That's why ROMs can freely AMD legally be downloaded to this day.
A 'stream machine' is simply a PC running steam OS. So as you discovered, any PC is potentially a 'Stream Machine'.
Have a look at iBuyPower and Alienware's steam machine if you want the console like experience. They are doing a pretty good job at keeping the price at console levels and they look much better than a huge tower sitting in your TV cabinet.
It would be nice to have some exploration and open-ness like the first Tomb Raider.
I agree. I can't notice the Tress FX on the hair in more that half the shots and its damn blurry with low lighting quality.
On damage control are we much?
