It is not anyway near identical. Yakuza looks arcadey and silly in comparison. Shenmue's combat was slow paced, realistic and elegant. One is subtle, the other is flashy. While Shenmue is among the very best games I have ever played, I just can't stand the yakuza series. Comparing both feels to me almost as comparing gta and saints row.
Since there is this 'release it now, patch it later' mentality from developers, there should also be a 'buy it now, pay it later' response from players: I'd buy a $60 game and pay $15 a month for four months. Than I swear I'd be patient with the after-release de-bug patching.
@ErryK
And nothing. You had an question, I guessed an answer. I never said it wasn't selling well, I just assumed it was selling on brand alone... a Call of Duty of jrpgs, maybe? :)
Brand loyalty.
"Why is it that people who don't like the game always feel the need to comment on it?"
Even if they don't care about the game, they care about the franchise, and the shape it is taking.
"is it simply because you don't like that they're making another Lightning based game point blank?"
I remember when MGS2 launched and everyone was somewhat pissed because Snake was replaced by some whiny kid as the main char...
Yeah, if only that hard mode patch had been completed this could have been among this gen's best rpg.
The only thing AC needs is better combat and stealth. Their game would be in a whole new league if only they could implement that free flowing mechanics from rocksteady games...
Will this come for ps3? I've googled it but couldn't find out. Some sorces say it will, some say it won't... :/
The only great thing Capcom did during this entire generation was Dragon's Dogma. If only they would invest in it as a franchise...
I think he was pretty clear on why it got this score. Frame rate problems, glitchs, audio problems, bad (and recycled) map designs, lack of easter eggs, the use of "win buttons", mediocre multiplayer and lack of new, significant features. He actually liked and complimented the new voice actors and never listed them as a problem and/or distraction.
Nor will Fight Club. Still is a great movie/book though. What was your point again? Tsc... stupid article...
lol Yes it was. As perfect as it gets! :)
On topic: Oh, shut up! A sequel MUST be done! It was just too good to be left alone!
"So we, Mr. and Mrs. McCloud, being foxes, as we are, have birthed a baby fox. What shall we call him?"
"Fox?"
"Done"
LOL
I'd like to see a green arrow rocksteady game almost completely focused on stealth.
Wth, how is that sony fault?! People have been doing that since the first tomb raider was released, 15 years ago. It is to be expected. Maybe even unavoidable.
True, ACIII was praised all over gaming sites. Every reviewer was under it's spell. So I'll take this with a grain of salt 'til I start seeing user reviews. But I hope it really is great though.
Nice to know, I had no idea. Thanks for replying.
Are there still a lot of ppl playing this? Was thinking about getting it since it is so cheap right now...
Ps4 all the way. I can not afford to have two consoles, and sony never fail to impress, so I'm always with 'em.
Shenmue was developed by sega am2, not quantic dream. Also, it was nothing like QD games. It had a few qte sequences, sure, but most of the game - combat included - was real time.
