I'm a huge playstation fanboy and I was VERY disappointed.. bluepoint, bend and sucker punch all have to be very fsr into development and they showed none of them. Not to mention where the hell is the last of us online and twisted metal online. Lots of other studios like London, asobi, ballistic moon could have made a small appearance. Add in stellar blade and FF7 rebirth (which are both supposed to release this yr) they no doubt missed a great opportunity. Have a feeling they are...
Yah don't get used to it. Only their live service games will be day 1 on PC.
Nah no way it's releasing in november. It's releasing sometime in September, going head to head with starfield. It's going to be a MASSIVE juggernaut and will make starfield look meh. That being said, I was VERY disappointed with this showcase. They are clearly holding stuff back, probably due to the ABK aquisition. Think that is pretty stupid imo. There are a number of high profile studios that should have been at this showcase. Naughty dog, bluepoint, bend, sucker punch, ...
@343 ill give you some examples. How about paying MS paying 100 million dollars for rise of the tomb raider? Other examples bioshock, mass effect 2, gta IV dlcs to name just a few.
@S2killinit the only way they can submit more concessions is if they win the appeal. At this stage they can't offer any more remedies to get the deal across the line. If by some miracle they do win the appeal, then they can submit behavior or structural remedies to the CMA. Then the CMA would rule on it again.
Lol give me a break. Xbox owners wouldnt have bought the games any ways. Did you see the pathetic sales of FF7 crisis core on xbox? Square will be just fine. They will make a shit ton of money off of FF16 and FF7 rebirth alone. Still think sony is going to aquire them anyways
This isn't the same thing as MS. Deviation games isn't 1st party, they just had an agreement. Sony was funding, I highly doubt they were managing them.
They must not have liked what they saw and pulled funding. Now the studio has to layoff people. It's not the same thing.
Well they had the talent, I'm curious what happened. Must not have been very much progress. Good thing firewalk obviously hit its milestones.
Sucks I thought for sure Sony was going to aquire them. Guess their game wasn't up to snuff. Rumor was that final strikes game was canceled and deviation games was partnering with them. Odd though final strike had been working on the game for 3 yrs and deviation games only about a yr. Was it the same game and that is why the layoffs at deviation as well? Thought for sure with all the talent at deviation they would be aquired just like firewalk just was.
Lmao yah not sure what planet you are living on. Everytime a playstation exclusive releases xbots are review bombing in on metacritic. Giving ridiculous scores of zero to games like the last of us 2. That game is last gen, yet it still looks better than 95% of current gen xbox games. You can not like the story writing, but sonys 1st party games aren't released is such a pathetic state as was Redfield.
Xbox is definitely in danger. What deal are you referring to? The ABK aquisition is dead and not for the reason everyone thought. Unless they can somehow suddenly not be dominant in the cloud market, their plans are screwed. They moronically put ALL of their eggs into the gamepass basket. For yrs that's all they have talked about, effectively brainwashing their own consumers into thinking buying games is unnecessary. Completely idiotic business move to put your 1st party studios game...
Apparently unlike xbox studios, there is accountability at ps studios.
It's clear that xbox has a talent and management problem. Honestly I think they are just being lazy with these publisher aquisitions. It's pretty apparent from his interview, they have given up on trying to compete with Sony and Nintendo. I Said that yrs ago when they started gamepass. They couldnt compete in the traditional form so they pivoted to gamepass, and it still hasn't worked. They are still lagging way behind playstation in just about every important metric like con...
Well that sucks. From what I read they were an extremely tiny studio. Assuming some of the devs will maybe switch over to San mateo studios?
Starfield is a must for MS. If it flops, it's going to be bad for MS. No way it will score anywhere near 96 on meta. Don't think it will score as low as redfall, but Will probably be somewhere in the low 80s
Don't think sony is in a huge hurry, but I do see them acquiring both eventually. Sony and tencent already own 30% of fromsoftware. The rumor raging for months is sony is acquiring square. I think the perfect time to announce any new studios/publisher sony may have aquired Is their upcoming showcase. MS would have a very hard time acquiring a major Japanese studio, let alone a publisher. If this deal doesn't go through, which is likely, I think they will go after EA and possibly ...
I don't think sony is in any particular rush with those 2. I think they will eventually buy them both, as MS has about 0% chance of buying wither one. Sony and tencent already own 30% of fromsoftware. Rumor has been raging fir months now that square is selling to sony. They would fit perfectly with Sony 1st studios. I have no doubt MS will go after several publishers if ABK isn't overturned. Think EA would be a target or possibly ubisoft. The likely hood thst ANY japanese publish...
Eh, I don't no man, That's alot of extra work for each studio. If it does ever happen, it won't be for quite some time.
@onisama. So I guess you have issues with xbox following in sony's footsteps and making all 1st party games $70. How about the fact that they raised the price in several markets, on an even older at that point xbox? They will raise gampass price here shortly as well. Yes gamepass is great value. Not such a great value when it leads to a bunch of mid tier exclusives though. On top of that it's not sustainable. Said it months ago, they put all their eggs in the gamepass basket and...
To each their own. It was probably one of the more disappointing playstation 1st party games in the past decade for me. I was so hyped for it when they first revealed it. It certainly wasn't a polished game at release.
