Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood questline was so well done with some great twists and turns. I'll never forget the feeling I had at the end of it. I have to add that I absolutely hated Skyrim's DB questline and thought it was pure poop. Replacing the macabre and somber tone of Oblivion's DB with the lighthearted and comical cheese of Skyrim's was unforgivable to me.
But yeah, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and so far, Starfield, are peak Bethesda imo.
It's also mind-blowing that anyone would think the highest score on a given scale necessarily implies perfection. Some people just really like the game.
It's been rock solid for me on Series X so far - no perceptible dipping. I'm really shocked; they did a great job. Perhaps they've finally shaken that "Bugthesda" moniker.
You can't have the "seamlessness" of NMS coupled with all the assets, asset quality, lighting, shadows, cities, characters, weapons, values, dialogue, and overall general fidelity of a AAA game on a console.
The reason NMS is able to achieve that "seamlessness" is because there's not much going on in the game's world(s). It's all very barren and devoid of detail/assets compared to ...
I don't know about "needing bondaries" or this or that, but I *do* know that I want to play a new Bethesda RPG. I *don't* want No Man's Sky or anything like it - I want the Bethesda game world structure. This is what I'm hyped for and paying for. I couldn't give a shit about "seamless exploration." I *want* the characters, the pickpocketing, the speech challenges, the double-agentism, etc. No Man's Sky is a great ga...
I've never seen anything like it; I thought fanboyism was intense during the 2013 console wars. Now in 2023, we've actually got people trying to discredit the game over its minimalist title screen. Seriously bizarre, but it's the internet. Hell, I sure hope people aren't telling fans that the game is going to suck face to face due to its title screen.
@Eidolon
May want to read that again.

You've got to be realistic though.

People are having a blast. So much positivity on YouTube.
KindaFunny dig it.

Beautiful.
Can't wait.
Agreed.
Yeah, I'm definitely downgrading to Extra. It's not the money (though it is) but the principle. It's also unjustified in my opinion.
Aye yai yai...
Small lives, not getting enough attention, and the chance to make money = manufactured hysteria everywhere.
"I am not willing!"
So don't, drama queen.
It's only cool when women can monetize objectifying themselves, right?
Fantastic so far; takes me back.
What features?

Looks great.
The 90's SSI and TSR D&D games were some of the best ever made. The Dark Sun series was one of my favorites.
@shin
Sure, but he was trying to curry favor with opposition fanboys to resurrect his dead internet presence. Close enough I'd say.
