I honestly didn't think this game was going to fare so well, and I was a little burned out on Gears (I still sorta am) but these glowing reviews and the general consensus that this is not only a great Gears game but a great game in general has me kind of excited.
I'm really looking forward to playing this new Gears of War game and I didn't expect to feel this way.
YouTubers of all kinds seem to be raving about the visuals - Jackfrags and a few others have all noted the visuals.
It's also getting praise for just being a good game.
https://www.youtube.com/wat... (objective player who thought the series was getting tired believes Gears 5 has revitalized it)
Looking forward to getting this into my hands to see for myself.
Multipl-!@#$@% WHHAAAAAAAAT?
Just kidding - not one of those kneejerks but this is surprising.
Maybe it'll turn out great like TLOU's MP.
Yeah, and that's what I loved about the first game. They nailed atmospheres and the visuals and gameplay were groundbreaking at the time.
It's still good, but I'd like to see a return to the grit of the original.
Looking forward to the campaign.
I expected mostly eights so I'm happy to see scores above that.
Microsoft seems to have a much needed win here.
Yeah, they're totally "relying" (lol) on this guy. Gears of War doesn't have enough clout - they need this guy being advertised in people's 'Community' tabs to excite long time fans.
"Hey there everyone it's me Larry Hyrb - Xbox Live's Major Nelson with some exciting news for all you Gear-heads! David Bautista is joining the Xbox family and will be a playable character in Gears 5's multiplayer mode when you pre-order!"
Lol.
Sony's biggest studios crank out 1-2 games a gen if we're lucky and there's good reason for that. I fully expect TLOU III (if there is one) to release at the end of next gen.
Gamingbolt asking "What happened to Infamous" when the last Infamous game came out in 2014 is the height of stupidity, yet it's also calculated stupidity - they know by asking such stupid questions people will to rush to their site and call them out on ...
Buy.
Silly Gamingbolt with these "What Happened to?" articles. Nothing "happened" to it.
You'd think a site so well connected to "devs" would know that Infamous developer Sucker Punch is working on Ghost of Tsushima. The last Infamous game was made near the start of the gen - it's not like another entry is 'off the table' or the series has been 'forgotten.' Not like it's been 15-20 years.
Such dramatic,...
I was wondering when we were going to get that, and it actually looks like a nice theme. Nothing has been able to knock out my 'Ellie-in-forest-with-rifl e' theme yet though.
Still, I'll check it out.
They ought to have a section called "Says Dev" on their site.
I wonder which dev will say a small thing to GB next week?
Looks great, and it looks like a great world to get immersed in.
...
Same - I love Sucker Punch's games. Enjoyed all the Infamous games and Ghost of Tsushima just looks incredible. Can't wait to get a ahold of that one.
The Last of Us 2 is a no-brainer and it may be even be my game of gen. You know Naughty Dog are gonna kill it.
Ha - you don't know me.
I'm not blindly defending anyone, nor am I "scared" (that's a good one) of Microsoft. Blind defense - hardly.
I'm not really "defending" anyone - I'm merely being honest about what's transpired this generation. I'm very honest and objective about 'everything' and people don't like that but that's their problem.
I have no agenda here, nor do I have ...
Microsoft has Gears 5 while Sony has Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2, and Ghost of Tsushima.
Sony's been delivering games (mostly great) at a steady pace all generation, and they're outnumbering Microsoft 3-1 in the closeout.
Microsoft have delivered practically nothing all generation.
Hey dude, it's honest.
I'm no longer going to pay attention to Bioware - people will have to wake me up when they produce something of worth.
Nothing much to argue about - resolution is resolution. Game seems to have a frame rate problem on all the consoles. The X seems the least impacted.

I know he was talking about the shooting but I wanted to say more.
Alright Larry...
I learned what I learned from someone who's played it and my comment reflects their sentiment. It's either put faith or trust into a person who has played it and extensively conveyed his thoughts... or listen to you...
...and you can probably now see why I wouldn't choose your comment which reeks of spite and absolutism with no basis.
Come on, Larry.
