What gives? Opinion.
And, opinion gives way to hysteria.
(not talking about this specific piece)
@Inzo
Metro.co.uk 'did' post and relay this person's opinion however, and whether or not it's the sites opinion in part or as a whole, they used it for an article which is even worse.
They didn't write the bait - they stole it.
Exactly.
Why?
Journalists need attention, literally, or they cannot thrive. One of the most effective ways to garner attention is to cast a negative light on what is almost universally agreed upon by the industry and much of the community as a great game, refreshing installment, technical achievement, etc.
Now, I'm not saying any criticisms and contrary opinions aren't valid - they are - but this is so obviously transparent and lacking sincerity.
So, as long as...
"and Microsoft should feel bad about it"
I lol'd.
The Coalition made a great game; they should be proud as should Microsoft.
Strongly disagree.
What 'is' "everything else" exactly? I'm not a Sony fanboy and you'll get a fair response from me, but again what is everything else?
Microsoft objectively lost in all areas. Sony had more games and more highly rated games - that's just a fact. Their PSN service is just fine and no better or worse than Xbox Live. The firmware and controller are subjective attributes.
What has Xbox eclipsed (forget equaled) PlayStation in this...
Yep.
Very much looking forward to this one. Day One on Game Pass is a sweetener.
Agreed.
I enjoyed the exploration bits and the skiff was fun to drive with tight controls. Thought it went well with the story; really liked Kait and Del's interactions as they ventured out together.
Now I'm on the skiff again with the full party and it's enjoyable to hear them reminiscing and joking.
I don't know if Gears 5 is pushing the Xbox One X to its limits, but I do know that The Coalition took advantage of the hardware in such a way that they hit a great balance.
That's the achievement; hitting that balance of frame rate, resolution, and detail. I would say that Gears 5 is unique in this regard.
Yes, compromises were made but everything is in the range of 'good to great.'
This game feels a lot more tactical than any of its predecessors, and the gunfighting feels a bit different. I'm really digging it though.
Good stuff, IW.
The Coalition have done an exceptional job.
Gears 5 is a very impressive package, and I'm loving all of it.
Only taking a small break for the CoD Beta on PlayStation - then I'll be back at it.
I'd say that's fair - and this game definitely doesn't have the best graphics. The way The Coalition decided to use their resources was brilliant though and I think that's what Digital Foundry any many are trying to say.
They have a high frame rate game with good resolutions - the max being 4K. The graphics are great when you consider the whole package and who doesn't love 60fps?
What the Coalition has managed to do is hit a very happy...
It's most likely this individual has become generally immobilized.
There's just not a whole lot someone in that situation can do, and if he wants to spend his last days playing video games, for god's sake let the guy comfort himself in the manner he chooses.
@Brave
Come on, now. Not all games need those levels of physics as they're expensive and there are arguably better things to spend resources on.
Have you held every game or most games released this generation to that same standard? That's a big ask and I think you know it.
I'd say so *if they can keep the momentum.*
I wouldn't yet place them along the likes of Naughty Dog, but they 'could' get there eventually if they keep hitting home runs like Gears 5.
Definitely appreciate all the fine detail.
The animations look top notch as does the character rendering.
Makes sense to get MSGV vibes when looking at the running and walking animations, menu and inventory screens, and some of the more strange details. There are definitely similarities (it is a Kojima game) but I certainly wouldn't call it more of the same.
Death Stranding is a brand new game all its own.
Indeed.
This sort of thing has happened a lot this year, no?
Stop defending your game, CDPR, and just STAND BY IT. You approve of your work? Stand by it. I'm starting to get annoyed by this developer and that's not something I ever imagined I'd be saying.
