I love the UK and Japanese versions of the Dark Souls box art. The North American version pales in comparison in my opinion.
You summed up my thoughts on the game nicely.
Most reviews seem to be an "at first glance" type of review, whereas when you spend some more time with the game its problems are much more noticeable. Not to say that reviewers didn't spend time with the game, but there are clearly some issues that weren't adequately addressed. The difficulty felt inconsistent as once you've reached a certain level, most anything dies within a few hits. Other times you could...
Humanity is not yet ready to bear responsibility for such technology.
Sort of looks like Journey or something.
Demon's/ Dark Souls one is pretty funny. I have to laugh whenever I see those awkward deaths.
But Battlefield's dogtag mechanic truly makes you feel like someone's b*tch.
Give me a story worth caring about, but don't force it on me. Bioshock does this superbly. At the beginning of the game there isn't an intro movie or NPC that fills in the player on the where and when. You're just launched into the world and you see the story in the architecture, the signs, the music. It's like you're really in a different world, and it's certainly not gonna stop just so you're all caught up. You're in the middle of it and it's up to you to...
Dinosaurs are aggressive.
That's odd, there's a $5 dollar credit bonus for Metal Gear Solid HD collection on PS3 and on the 360 it's $10.
That sucks, but I can't really complain. Free money. :)
The game had a perfect ending in my opinion. It shouldn't be messed with. I can't imagine a prequel working out too well either.
If the game has even a half-decent combat system, it'll outdo Oblivion easily.
I normally only try to go for Platinums for games that I like, since after beating them I look to get more out of them.
I loved and still love Demon's Souls. However, trying to collect every weapon in the game is a very difficult task to do without farming upgrade items or using the dupe glitch. I get more satisfaction out of my experience with the game, rather than the trophy count or percentage.
Would have loved the Nexus dynamic theme from Demon's Souls, which was only released in Japan's PSN store, but I'll definitely grab the Dark Souls one! :D
But...there is one they fear...DragonCrab!
I'd pay for Crab race DLC.
The times. They are a-changin'.
The game shows a ton of promise with the talent to match. I think we're in for a treat, console or PC alike.
SA-X was scary as hell when I was a kid.
Great boss.
I take it Eidos actually worked on this boss? Rather than outsourcing?
Never thought an ESRB description would get me excited for a game.
Not sure why Dead Space is there. If anything, it's the enemies who should be afraid of Isaac.
Since Dead Space is more of an action game with a horror theme, the feeling of being scared goes out the window when you're mowing down everything in sight.
Of course, games HAVE to be easy. They're not like a movie that you can watch all the way through. If you suck at a game, that's it, you won't be able to progress and watch the ending. I remember a friend who never even finished OoT because of the water temple.
These days, games have to be accessible to multiple audiences. Rarely will a game satisfy both the casual and hardcore gamer, so they'll often try to please the audience which is bigger(casual).
