You think Halo 3 is the first instance in which the publishers pays off publications to give the game a good score? It's been going on for many years now. That's why games like GTA, Final Fantasy, and Halo get consistently good scores, despite being little more than rehashes.

I still find it amusing that PS3 sales are neck and neck with 360 sales at this time in its life cycle despite the PS3 not having any games (or so they say). With this price drop, the release of MGS4 and GT5 (and multi games like Assassin's Creed and DMC4), and increasing Blu-ray/HD demand, there will be a clear winner in a year or two. Spoiler: it's not the Defective Halo Box Mk.II.

It is looking pretty good. Too bad almost no one knows about it. It's suffering from bad marketing/no hype. Same thing happened with Heavenly Sword. Yes I'm sure you all know about these two games, but the "outside world" doesn't.
Demo discs are a thing of the past. There's this thing called PSN now. I used to buy OXM just for the demo discs, and then when I got the 360 there was seriously no point to the mag because half the demos actually released earlier on Live. Count me out.
Spoiler: most people don't know or care about the new chips, and they really wouldn't have to if MS made a good console from the get-go.

Most of the people who own Wii are morons, sometimes referred to as the "mass market." Then there are the Nintendo fanboys, who praise the console just because it's form Nintendo and has Zelda.
Recently FF7 Crisis Core released for PSP in Japan, and it boosted sales of the portable 500%, pushing it way past DS. There's no imagining what will happen when games like FF13 and MGS4 release for PS3. This game just looks incredible. And yes, those graphics are in-game. The lighting model is very similar to Soul Calibur 4.
It's not that PS3 is the weaker system. In fact it's far more powerful than the 360. It's that EA has already stated that they focus more on the 360 versions (I wonder if Peter Moore has anything to do with it!) and the two systems have very different architecture

Improved gameplay mechanics? In a fighting game? Yeah right. Also, never get your hopes up at the beginning of a new generation of consoles because the target renders you see won't be achievable until near the end of the console's life cycle, if at all.
