Wii U is next generation, it just has lower ram and a slightly slower CPU than the competition.
But look what they can achieve with a paltry 256mb VRAM on PS3, and the Wii U has 1GB that can impress in the right developers hands.
Wii U is next gen... and I agree, assuming you have a disposable income, it will compliment PS4 or XBone as a second/third console for Nintendo exclusives.
MS have always been good at marketing....and Sony seem to have made some very good decisions with PS4.
I'm just excited by all the hoo-haa....2013 will be the year that revitalized gaming!

Much like FREE ONLINE PLAY with PS3, not blocking used games will be a major advantage for Sony.

Online pass codes will be the worst you will get with PS4 used games, and that's up to the publisher.

PC's are scalable...Consoles are fixed and less expensive. Simple as that.
