Quality shines through, despite the hit pieces. The people are smarter than some of the games press give them credit for.
People love to point out that all executives do this, but those people are too preoccupied with trying not to fall off the fence they're sat on to acknowledge the key difference; either Phil lies orders of magnitude more than everyone else or he's just so sh!t at it, he constantly gets busted.
Either way, it's not a good look and he needs to go.
Probably the same reason they claimed the PSVR2 sold 1/3 of what it actually sold at launch. Smear campaign to turn people off and rain on the parade. Who cares? The truth will always out in the end and then they just look dumb lol
Eh? PlayStation has a far bigger install base. Plus they have a better games attach rate than Xbox. Both of these equate to FAR more sales on PS5 than on series XS, which is why it would make sense to release on PlayStation - to see a better return on investment.
Timed exclusivity would give them pull to their platform for anyone that bothered. Outright exclusivity hurts sales and therefore profit. Bigly.
A clear GOTY contender. I've not yet finished it, but I'm blown away so far.
I'm even more hyped for FF7 Rebirth next year now, too - an absolute shoe-in for GOTY contender 2024, given how far Sqaure Enix has come with this franchise.
No problem, devs. You launch your game more quickly for the digital release. I'll sit back and wait for the physical launch, which must be coming, because you claimed the reason is just about launch scheduling, right?
If it doesn't come on disc, I'll pirate it; For a game like this, if I don't OWN it, I don't PAY for it.
@ lelo2play, it IS bad, It's always bad to miss a target. The fact that they had no decent games during that period is irrelevant. That target was set knowing full well they had no decent games releasing. It's a formalisation of expectations, relayed to the shareholders and they haven't met those expectations.
That's the reason "some people will think that was bad" - it WAS bad.
At least the author woke up in the end!
"Big tech companies like Amazon and Google do not have what it takes to compete in gaming", said big tech company, Microsoft, in an ironic self-fulfilling prophecy.
Yeah, certainly not happening any time soon. They pulled it in order to get it out sooner on more platforms and they're not the largest team.
I thought the Halo Infinite extra sparkly nail varnish was an excellent product tie-in. It's just what the dudebros wanted.
^ I've changed my mind. I'm going to wait for the Bud Light-themed series S - you all know it's coming.
Ooh this will go beautifully with that Starfield Rainbow controller ...
Cannot wait. Trailer was pleasingly bat shit crazy! This was supposed to be coming to VR originally, so I'm still hoping for a PSVR2 patch, too, please Mundfish?
That's how 99% of the people at the top of the leader boards do it.
Maybe a random selection of games you've 'favourited' or 'wish listed' would be better. Otherwise you'll end up declining dozens of shit games (or, inevitably, games they're actively trying to push on you...) and before you know it, you've run out of gaming time!
Same. I want the trademark charm and gameplay married to better graphics and performance. Right now, please.
More likely they're trying to stifle negative news, just as they did with Redfall's 30fps, always online and not even Unreal Engine 5 after everyone reported it would be for YEARS.
Redfall bit them hard, despite them sweeping all that under the carpet until shortly before launch. They'll up the ante and concrete over details like this for Starfield, rather than risk a repeat scenario.
^ I called that awhile back, @ocelot07. People couldn't get PS5s for the longest time and many would've given xbox a fair crack of the whip, rather than wait for a new gen console. Now that PS5 is available, people are buying those in droves and selling off the series XS. The more that do that, the more the second hand price plummets due to a saturated market.
If your series XS is collecting dust, get it gone now, because those prices are only going one way...
