wow, the article is solely about MS, the post you replied is about Xbox and Wii, but somehow on your post the Wii is forgotten and Sony bashing came out of nowhere.

It's not that there's no innovation, it's just that with the current medium (controller + monitor), all of the core mechanic have been thought of, there's only room of small innovation here and there, except for some indies with unique gameplay that AAA games just can't afford to experiment with, given the risk.
We need generation jump like from 2D to 3D that gives birth to FPS, TPS, etc. And the nearest thing that's going to happen is VR, IMO.

They should really hire a great gameplay designer, all of their games on PC mainly talked as a benchmark for gaming rigs, not as a game to play..
literally the first thing everyone around me asked when they talked about crytek's game is : "can your pc play crysis 1/2/3", instead of asking how fun the game is..

dropping Gold's requirement for apps, kinectless bundle, it's evident that Xbox in a difficult position and if after all this it's still not making any profits there's no telling what the investors will make Xbox division do.
If they decided to cut it off MS it's no longer victory for gamers.
Maybe they'll slash the price another $50 with cloudless bundle, because it's less integral than Kinect after all..
money-wise this is a good move, now people who had doubts about buying XB1 and those who want to buy multiple consoles will be more compelled to buy it.

It would have greater impact if they say "ports from Windows 7" and not "ports from Windows 8" though.. that version isn't good for gaming..
actually, games of old time feels long because they made the difficulty hard, and there's way less handholding: no waypoint in map, checkpoints aren't every 5 minutes or so..
I remember in the age of PS1 you have to read the conversation and guess by yourself how to advance the story, not like modern times when you just have to simply go to the dot on the map, kill monster, go to next dot, etc..
games were pretty hardcore back then..
depends on your target, if you're fine with just smooth gameplay and normal setting you can buy a PC that costs the same with PS4 and a couple of games, but if you want maxed out setting and smooth gameplay it can costs way more than PS4 + XB1 combined.
for PC, the entry level price is quite affordable, and if buy it for multiplayer rest assured that most multiplayer games set their minimum requirement low enough so that more people can enjoy the games.
That's why I believe in gameplay video more than I believe reviews, if I like what I see then I'll buy it whatever the score is.
why? it's always been like that since previous gens outside US/UK. Xbox never made it big outside US/UK, not ever, since the beginning..
despite that there's still people bought them, there's still very loyal fans out here, but now that their entertainment features geared heavily towards US/UK people it's like a royal kick in the butt for those people.

to tell you the truth, almost all PS fans doesn't care about resolution either, they're just getting back at the same bashing PS3 receive last gen..

the game itself is fun, what's annoying is some action Respawn took with the PC version of TF.
framerate lock, can't start game without enough people and the latest is dat CTF mode removal.. wtf respawn
