I think the game is a solid 7, so I pretty much agree with most reviewers.
It was a fun game with a decent story. Though it was also unpolished and repeated a lot of cheap open world tropes.
@Taero
No, I'm not that good at it. I'm still playing it, so the ratio is only going to get better. I don't regret buying the game, but the price is steep. Though one could argue that the price is fair considering that games haven't really increased their price in forever.
I work 70 hour weeks including weekends, but I still get enough time to enjoy this game. It's definitely worth it.
BUT it would make my life easier if it was possible to save the game, and I do 100% think that it's a valid criticism. But I'm also saying that the game is worth it. I wouldn't be surprised if Returnal is looked at as one of the better PS5 games in the future.
That’s a interesting take. I really enjoy Returnal but I start to question if it was worth the money when I consider what each hour so far costs.
Where I live Returnal (basic edition) costs 100$, and I’ve spent 10 hours so far. 10$ every hour is a lot for a game.
@StonehYoshi
Why is it «highly likely» that EA puts it on EA Play day one?
They have never put any of their heavy hitters on EA play day one. Fifa 21 took 8 months to appear, Mass effect isn’t coming, Star Wars Squadrons and Jedi didn’t appear until months after. Have I missed something?
I really doubt it will be on gamepass day one, especially Pc game pass. If that were to happen Microsoft would have had severe diarrhea shitting EA up to the neck with money. I doubt either would take the risk of losing/gaining profit on BF.
But then again, it’s microsoft.
'mediocrity'... That's simply not true. Each Zelda title have had more variations in gameplay and artistic directions than any predecessor to Demon's Souls. Nothing wrong with that, because the souls games are amazing, but stating that Nintendo's big hitters have fallen into mediocrity is simply not true.
Agreed. I had 5 tries on the first act, but cleared act 2 on the first try. Act 3 had me demolished though.
Edit: Disregard my comment. I thought acts meant biomes. I haven't really gotten far it seems, haha.
I got to the first boss on my first run after 2 hours, but the game crashed mid boss fight. Frustrating as F, but I have not experienced a crash since. I love the game and it's easily a 9/10 to me so far, but I'm more afraid of the game crashing than dying from any of the enemies.
I have both the Series S and Ps5, and I use the S as a small console on top of my work desk at home to play games on game pass. The X would be way too big. I’ll never buy games for it, but I love it as a secondary console in another room.
I’d also recomment Astro Bears. Bought it for 1$ and I’ve had tons of fun with the local 4 player mode. It’s only fun for 10-20 minutes at a time, but it’s without a doubt worth the single dollar.
@StoneyYoshi
Yeah, I get that, but several hours with gameplay without the option to save is still going to ruin the game for me. It means that I'm only able to beat the game on weekends if I plan for it. I don't like it if I have to plan my life in order to beat a game.
I bought it today though, and it's really fun so far. But I don't know if I'll be able to beat it without a save function.
I was going to buy Returnal, but now I’m not sure. I love hard games, and Returnal looks amazing. But I work long hours and I only get 1-2 hours of play time on weekdays. The Ps5 is also used by others when I’m not using it, so putting it in rest mode doesn’t really help. This is a major bummer to me personally. Even Hades let you save in the middle of a run.
I imagine that this could be useful if you got disabilities and need help with certain parts.
I remember playing this game 18 years ago. Didn’t know it still existed.
Fenyx was a good game, but I have many gripes with it. It’s extremely repetetive, it’s a checklist game, the comedy is pretty bad, but it has a few highlights, enemies are way too spongy and a lot of the puzzles are unimaginative. But it is a fun game, and I hope it gets a sequal so it can improve.
That said BoTW is on another level imo. (Except for story. BoTWs story sucked pretty hard)
Repetetive and too big for its own good, but it’s the best 'new' AC imo.
I'm rather tired of open world games, so this is good news to me.
AC Unity looks amazing. I kind of see it as the last AC game where Ubisoft had big ambitions. Too bad it was riddled with bugs, MTs and a generic story. I doubt we'll see a AC game looking as good and having as much details in animations and the open world as AC Unity did.
I want to buy this, but never at 60$. I bought the original game for 60$ and it even included a Zelda themed Wii-mote and the symphony soundtrack. I love Nintendo and Zelda, but the price, the tiny tiny upgrade and the amiibo bs makes me fed up. Nintendo has always been anti consumer, but they've been good at hiding it. This time they're not even trying.
