You played 20 hours yesterday? That’s impressive for a game to keep you glued to a screen for 20 hours in a day. But don’t forget to take care of your health.
There’s several Zelda titles that had scored much lower. Most of the 2D / top down zelda games says hi. And Skyward Sword.
Difference between you and the reviewers is that they have played the game and you not.
Take into mind that Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most priced posessions so it’s no wonder that a game made with enourmous quality assurance and devloped by some of the best talent in the business turns out good. Nintendo would never release a Zelda game they believe is bad.
'Someone’s missed the point entirely. They made that over 2 days. On a game that is over 12 months old and has already been selling for the last 365 days.'
I still don’t get your point. You still haven’t presented any numbers that suggest this being a major success.
I’m not going to bother answering the speculative other half of your comment. You’re arguing with a straw man.
It all depends on how much it cost to develop. You can’t just say 50.000 equals 1,5m in profit. You also have to subtract money spent on peoples wages, marketing, technology and equipment, rent/facilities, electrical bill, and probably a ton of other costs.
That’s why it’s hard to say if 50.000 is a good or bad number.
'people really need to understand the price hike of games has nothing to do with covering costs but making staggering profit margins.'

I thought the same. On its first release it sold 500.000 in 48 hours which was impressive for a independent game studio. 50.000 is quite low in comparison. But if it’s a good or bad number I don’t know.
Looks fun! Can’t wait to see how people will speedrun the game in the long run.
Agreed. I'm buying the game, but I'm less hyped than I thought I would be. I'm worried that the map will be too familiar. I really hope there will be many new towns, characters and enemies.
I'm also worried about the game feeling too familiar to BOTW.
But, I don't get your comment about it being overpriced. You haven't played it, and it's also false if you count in inflation and the prices of what older games were sold for in their time.
N64 games could cost US$75.99 which were equivalent to about $130 in 2021. Zelda TOTK is 70$ which is 10$ more than most Switch games, but it's of Nintendos most expensive games to develop. And prices of ga...
I’m sure some have a problem with the price. But there’s also a ton of people who were really bothered by the praise Botw got. So whenever Zelda is mentioned here on N4G the same commenters shows up to criticize it. If they are really bothered by the 70 price tag knowing that many of them buy PS exclusives at the same price I’m not sure of. Many just want to criticize Zelda.
I think you have to get used to it. That’s the new standard price for new AAA games.
Games haven’t had a increase in price since forever. I remember N64 games costed 60 euros 20 years ago. And 60 euros then would be 90 euros today when you calculate the inflation. Games then were also cheaper to make than a lot of games today.
So the price increase to 80 isn’t really that bad.
Is it? I never found the story of Bayonetta 1 or 2 to be important, but the overall experience of those games still warrants a 8/10 and 10/10 for me.
No. He is literally saying FF16 will take 15 years, not all FF games.

'With little difference'.
Compared to what? Which franchises offer more inventions in new instalments then what Mario and Zelda do?
I can see how Final Fantasy can compare, but what other franchises?
I want to like this game, but something feels off. Probably not buying it unless it receives great praise after launch.
To all future comments:
No one is saying Zelda invented anything. BoTW used existing ideas and took inspiration from a lot of games and streamlined it. The game sold 25 million copies, received massive praise and many game developers follow suit. Just like how Apple didn’t invent smartphones, but still made the phone that other companies were inspired by later on.
This was a great direct.
Loved to see Switch Sports, Strikers and more Mario Kart courses. Xenoblade 3 is huge as well for jrpg fans, though it’s not my taste.
Many of my friends never had any bugs. I wasn’t as lucky. I bought it at launch and the game crashed on my first, second and third run. It made me hate the game and I took a break.
When I came back I never saw any bugs again, and I came to love the game. It’s amazing, but the first days were awful.
Keep your expectations low. This might be fresh, but definitely not big. It's one town, no battling and only catching of pokemon. They really got to up the gameplay if all you do is talk to people and throw balls at pokemon in a small hollow open world.
I do hope I'm terribly wrong and that this is going to be amazing. But I really doubt it.
@andy85
It might look like a dlc, but it is anything but. The map size is more than double the size of BOTW. the overall gameplay has vastly changed and the creative possibilities in gameplay freedom is vast.
That said. Nintendo has been very spoiler free in their marketing, so I can see how someone thinks it looks like a dlc.
