I think a 6 is harsh. But I get the 7 and 8s. I love the fights, epic character designs and the use of chinese mythology, but the level design riddled with invisible walls is mediocre. The story and dialogue could be way better as well, it's not very engaging. But definitely a great game.

Impressive for both the switch and ps2 indeed. As well as being a great gaming console the PS2 was also known for being a cheap DVD player for non gamers and casuals. That definitely helped boost the sales beyond the intended gamer target group.

I want to be excited but I'm not. I had fun playing a lot of AC and Far Cry games because they were mindless and a easy distraction between the heavier gaming sessions with deeper and better games. I'll wait for the reviews, but Ubisoft basicly only know how to make one kind of open world game, so I feel like Ive seen it all before. And compared with the Jedi games this looks very uninspired. I can only play one Ubisoft game in a year before I need a year long break again so I'm s...

Don’t know the deal about wukong, but how is this non-gaming news?

Looks great. Seems like they’ve also continued with the new Zelda direction we saw in botw and totk with focus on freedom in gameplay. Also cool to see Zelda playable. Not big on the art style, but it looks good enough imo.

Hoping for Metroid Prime 4. They announced it for the Switch and it’s still listed as a Switch game, so if they’re going to announce it for switch and not only switch 2 it’s now or never.
Also hoping for a Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remaster/remake like we got for Wii U. Several rumors suggest Nintendo have been sitting on finished switch versions for a while now, waiting for a good release window.

I prefer 60fps, but I’m also well aware that you can’t expect to get graphic heavy games with 60fps on games that’s not expected to sell tons of million copies. There’s not a budget for it. Graphics has always been a bigger selling point over fps, so when they make a graphic heavy game the work needed to get higher fps increases. It’s easier to get a budget for it if you have a huge IP like Spider Man that’s expected to sell tons more than Hellblade.

It’s easy to just compare games on a surface level, but you have to take into consideration what resources the studios has. Horizon is a 212 million dollar game with full support from sony, while Dogma’s budget is quite small in comparison.

@aaronaton
Lol, that’s a whole lot of bs. How do you even believe that?

I don’t have a problem with the article being approved. But I’m tired of seeing Xbox negative articles at the top constantly at N4G. The need to praise Sony and bash microsoft on this site is such a bore.

That was most likely never an option. As with everything else it was likely 'take the 200 or we’ll find someone else who will'.

They also mentioned thay wanted to focus on making live service first party games. Not a surprise considering that they bought bungie and dabbled with making Tlou multiplayer a live service game. But I don’t like hearing every major studio and game company focusing so much on making live service games. There’s too much of them already imo.

I doubt that would happen. It would diminish the message of TLoU 2, and basicly be what the Rise of Skywalker was to The Last Jedi.
I think the third one would be more of a redemption arc for Ellie (and maybe Abby). But hopefully they leave Abby out of it imo.

Bought the 10$ upgrade to try the survival mode. It’s fun, but with Tekken, Yakuza, Palworld and Prince of Persia arriving at the same time there was not any time left for a game I have already played. I will return to tlou 2, but my focus is on my backlog from 2023 and the start of 2024.

It's not quite the same, but recording a movie in the cinemas is still a crime even if you paid for a ticket to see the movie.
But then again I'm not really against consumers getting back at giant corporations who ruin the industry, as long as said consumers don't pirate from smaller studios.

It’s quite sad, but the transition from owning games to subscription services feels inevitable. We’re lucky we still have some time left, but I don’t think it’s going to be easy to stop it. Casuals which are the biggest part of the gaming market will always go for the cheapest option. Why should people who buy fifa and cod every year buy the game for full price when they can pay a smaller amount through a subscription.
Japan seems to be going their own way for now which is good, but ...

Not to mention Hi Fi Rush that came out of nowhere. And Remnant 2 scored very high as well.

This year is wild. I stick to playing one game at a time so I’m sure I’m finishing game before I move on to the next.
I’ve mainly played Hogwarts Hi Fi Rush and Zelda. And now I’m playing FF XVI. But I’ve already bought Diablo 4, Baldurs Gate 3, Jedi Survivor and RE4 which I am equally hyped to play. And then adding Starfield, Spider Man 2, Mirage, Mario RPG and Pikmin 4 to...

I’d say it sets the bar on freedom and exploration.
TotK is good on the other points you mention, but there are games that do a better job of it.

What makes BoTW, ToTK and Elden Ring amazing to me is the exploration part. You have to discover the world for yourself. Having the freedom to go wherever you like and to not be guided by hundreds of map icons is what makes them good imo.

It’s okay to not like it.

But know that comparing BoTW to Far Cry 3 is very revealing on your lack of knowledge about games. And you clearly don’t know what the word empty means.
