I’d recommend you play the game before you bash it.
I enjoyed Odyssey more because of the freedom and exploration, but I’d still say Horizon is the better game. It’s prettier, has a better story, better ai and has overall way more polish.
@DogJosha
That’s insane and very uncommon. But good for you if you enjoy your work and are fine with it being your life. But for most other people, we value our free time. Spending time with family, friends and my hobbies matter way more to me than my job. So if someone asked me to work 100hour weeks in the proffesion I wanted to work in I’d be heartbroken. Especially if my job was on the line if i said no.
They weren’t held at gunpoint, but their jobs are at stake. If you’re not up for working long hours you simply lose your job and you’ll have to find a new proffesion. That simply won’t do and is a sign that the industry is toxic. It needs regulation.
It’s not easy making games. CoD, AC, Battlefield and so on need tons of work done by skilled developers, even if the games doesn’t reach the critical acclaim that games from Naughty Dog, Nintendo and Rockstar get. Taking in consideration how often new Cod, Battlefield and AC games release you’d think that they have extremely strict deadlines keeping the developers working long hours.
I got no problem with the grind myself but I get it. It’s definitely very grind heavy.
But «bottom of the quality in terms of quality»? Naval combat, animations, cutscenes, side quests, rpg elements, stealth, variation and amount of content is all bigger and better. What makes it worse than the rest (except for the grind)?
But games like Conker, Banjo, diddy kong racing and Donkey Kong 64 are all made by rare. I doubt they will be included.
The truly sad part is that people like us are rather powerless, except for a few circumstances. We (wnlightened gamers on gaming sites) are very few in comparison to the millions of people that buy games like AC, CoD, Star Wars Battlefront and so on. Those people don’t buy games as often as us and gladly pour money into MTs.
At least I’m happy that loot boxes are almost out of the picture in most games.
So every news outlets get paid by companies to give good reviews, even if it’s never been confirmed anywhere that it happens? Don’t do crack man
I agree in your statements about most ubisoft gsmes. Although i’ve got 30 hours in AC Odyssey and I have yet got to a point where I’m not able to do main story quests because of my level. I have only done 2 random generated side quests, but a lot of side quests, finding recruits for my ship and some playing around with the shadow om mordor inspired merchant system.
So i totally get why some reviewers aren’t focusing on the xp boosts - because it’s not as bad as many other RPGs, and ...
«I don’t like it anymore, so no one else should be allowed to either.» - your comment in a nutshell.

Saying that the voice actor of Kassandra does a better job than Alexios isn’t sexist. Let’s say there were two different male characters instead with different voice actors. One a amateur in the field and another a professional. Saying that one is better than the other could impossibly be sexist.
So why is it sexist to say that a one is better than the other just because it’s male vs female?

I can’t remember encountering a single loot box in my entire 50 hour playthrough of Origins. I didn’t feel any need to buy the pure cosmetic TMs either as the game already have soooo much content and gear u find in game. It’s the same with Odyssey.
If u don’t buy the games because u want to take a stance against MTs then I fully respect and applaud u, but if u don’t buy the games because u think MTs ruin it, then I’d reccomend that u reconsider and at least try Origins. The MTs aren’...
I find this rather interesting. If it works perfectly then it’s kind of cool to be able to play third party games with PC ultra settings on Switch. Yes, it is streamed but does that matter at all if it works?
Im not ok with MT’s, but i’m ok with permanent boosts. I don’t get why people would buy it.
I complain when content gets locked by MT’s but boosts are not content. They’re tools that helps you avoid content. If I spend 60 on a game, I’m not gonna use a boost to complete it faster, even if it’s free or locked behind a MT paywall.
I do of course agree that MTs are unacceptable, but the AC games after Unity has done a pretty good job in making them completely optional. Never have I once felt the urge or need to buy any MT content in Syndicate, Origins or Odyssey (so far).
If you look at it from a business standpoint it’s hard to argue why companies should not include MTs, considering how much money they generate. Sony has done a good job in excluding TMs which has earned them loyality from fans and go...
Unlike EA they still make decent single player games that can be played without paying for MTs.
Though it’s imo still unacceptable the way both Ubisoft and EA pushes MTs.
I watched a few videoes to get hyped before the release and I totally agree. I don't feel like his voice fits his face, and he sounds a bit funny. Probably going to play as Kassandra, although I'd like to play as the male. But voice acting is waaay more important than the gender of my character imo.
I see way more hate towards the xbox than people hating on the ps4. This site has mainly become a Sony centered site with tons of PS-fanboys. There’s not many Xbox fanboys left on this site compared to how it was before.
8-10 years ago it was the complete opposite when it was xbox fanboys that ruled the site, hating on the PS3.
As @ProjectVulcan stated - in 18 months it could be different again.
The most popular console will always have the most fans. Sudd...
I was incredibly unsure about this game. Having to eat, take a bath, focus on weight, take care if the horse, take care of a camp and so on. But it really works and for the first time EVER in a video game I actually feel like I’m taking part in a lived in world. This to me sets the bar for every open world game to come. I’m only 15 hours in but good god it just continues to amazes me. I’m probably a bit too hyped when I say this, but this might be the best game I’ve ever played.
