Snake controls the little robot (can't remember the name) with a visible PS controller, so I'm guessing that gets replaced with an Xbox controller.

In a perfect world it'd be nice to have the latest technology for $199, but I think everyone knows what corners were cut to get a console at the price. Blu-ray has no legitimate competition (in terms of conveniently offering high def movies), plenty of new games, Xmas sales will be fine (not flying off the shelves like the Wii, but fine nevertheless).
The price cut will likely come spring/summer 2009; same reason you see coupons for restaurants only good on a Tuesday or Wednesday...
Quick, someone run to your local pawn shop and snap a picture of the used games section. We'll find at least one game (for PS3, Wii, 360) in there that was released this year and post it on N4G and pretend it's actual "news" that moves the website forward.

I've used various beta, Release Candidate, RTM, and SP1 builds of Vista. I've installed it on virtual machines, my machine, I've even used vLite in hopes of removing the bloat that clogs its veins. I always come to the same conclusion: I will use XP for now and wait until the next iteration of Windows to see if it will replace what I currently use.

Sadly, Vista will never be as stable as XP. Microsoft unintentionally allowed XP many, many years to stew and become the great OS it is today. Even after SP1, XP wasn't much of an improvement in comparison to Win 2000. It took 3 Service Packs for XP to be a well-built OS (SP2 was good, but SP3 further drove home the fact that MS can make and fix good OSs, if given enough time).
Vista will never be as stable because they'll move onto Win 7 and possibly never release an SP2 for Vi...
