Does the Wii U use a stylus touchscreen??
If yes,then it is a load of arse.
The Vita works so well because you choose the inputs and can switch between the 2 very fluidly.
The Ps4 will have a Vita style controller and rightly so.
Once you spend a bit of time with Vita,the light bulb moment is figuring out it can better than a ps3/360(control wise).As for hardware,the 3DS is shockingly bad ergonomically when put next to Vita(I've used both).
I thought like you.Then I got a Vita,and it does indeed have the capability to be better than Ps3/360 for controls.It really does.
I now want touch screen Dualshock next gen.
Touch screens are a rubbish controller alone and pads are far better,but pads plus touch betters both.
The 3DS got less of a prelaunch beating and the hardware and line up of games were massively inferior(yes,I've played both).
Vita is the best handheld hardware ever made.All that remains open to debate is game line up and that takes time.
Voice control is in the ps3 SDK.It was developed and used in Singstar and it works.Most people just prefer a pad,and I'm one of them.
The stuff you people believe from MS continues to amaze me.
2nd reason is not a good one.The games are built for 5inch OLED and will not look good on a giant tv.That's what a ps3/360 is for.
I don't agree with that.I'm played the 3DS 3 times and thought it felt outdated,the 3D looks like 3 rows of cardboard cut outs,the graphics are weak and it's software line up has little to interest me.
I still wanted it to be successful.
Smartphones should not kill consoles and any 3DS or Vita fan that doesn't want both to sell is a shortsighted fanboy who doesn't care about gaming.

Media perception is a funny thing.Apple are nowhere near physical market share that most believe.The reason for their huge financial value is that they are rip off merchants who strangle their suppliers.
iPhones had shipped about 100 million,all models combined in their lifetime at around March 2011.The DS nearly doubled that in it's.The "unsuccessful" PSP managed about 75 million.

1080p is pointless below 42 inches and then only matters if you are closer than 5 ft.Most people couldn't spot 720p vs 1080p on a 50 inch form 3 ft let alone on a small screen.
360 proves that many people are idiots but that's nothing new.
Some of these are the same people that have paid MS hundreds of dollars/pounds for the ability to play on Live.
Samsung make more screens than anyone else.These include Sonys hugely reliable panels for LCDs and most OLEDs now.
OLEDs have no significant problems I've seen reported.
Samsung are the biggest electronics manufacturer in the world now.

Games are all about control.That and that phones don't get high budget "proper"games.While they are cheap,being a bit duff is ok but they do not compare to console quality games.

The 3DS feels like it's from the 90s.It's quite frankly a poor piece of hardware.
I hate it when people claim to know something about design,when clearly they just like the sound of it.
The Vita is the best designed handheld gaming hardware that has ever existed.
You may not like it or it's games but don't try and dress it up as an intellectual decision.It's not.
