Absolutely loved this book! It housed a lot of fascinating things, especially one or two things that I would have never thought Nintendo or Sega would do.
Exactly, rainslacker. Exactly. I feel like too many developers have to basically censor themselves these days just because of what others may think.
Actually sounds like that could have been a fun movie, except for the, possibly, rated PG13 version they might have went with. It's Saints Row! Hard R, please.
Thanks for proving my point. Happy gaming to you too.
You, Mr. Durden, are the exception. I didn't get the chance to play that one sadly. Guess I'll check that one out.
Well wrote story. The internet is great because it gave everyone a voice, and it's bad because it gave everyone a voice. Us gamers by nature can be an outspoken crowd, giving credit when it's due and then claiming to be sleeping with your mother the next.
Point is, like the author details, there's both pros and cons with gaming, particularly with online gaming. There might be some ignorant gamers out there, sure, but there are some good ones too so don't let one sessi...
If given to the right person that can balance fun and crude humor, sure. But on the other hand, even if they balanced everything right I don't think nows the time with all the sensitivity that's around. I truly think someone would not give it a chance because of the crudeness nowadays.
I liked the song, but I think both sides need to take it down a notch. Either way, the Gruber abides.
At first Gamer Gate seemed like a great thing, ya know, fight against corruption in gaming journalism and whatnot. Then it went south real fast with the feminism in the industry thing. Idiots.
Oh, and how could one forget the early 2000s gaming threat Jack "the hack" Thompson!? I still don't like this guy. He deserved it when he was disbarred.
And you said you didn't care how much money she had, that you love her for who she is, didn't you?
Why avoid current matters and political correctness? Easy, a lot of the world is pretty overly sensitive now. Up in arms over nothing, armed with no sense of humor, ready to sue, and always willing to attack the wrong party instead of researching the matter. When it winds down, and it will, then we'll have freedom and not this censorship of fear.
It's definitely shared with publishers and developers. Developers/publishers need to stop coming up with unrealistic timelines and instead concentrate on making the best game they can. That way they're not rushing the product to patch it later or trying to get all that DLC in.
As for us gamers, well.. when you're hyped you're hyped and we all usually do homework on a game we're about to get. We all have our own instinct or method, so what I say is going to be poin...
I completely agree with you, Perjoss. It's just the year and a half of waiting that's killing me. I'm pretty psyched to know what they have in store for my eagerness.
It's definitely fun to speculate on all these rumors, but I wish the Big N would bring this system into the light so we can focus on the games. Hopefully we're days away!
That was a great read. I never thought I would grow out of games. In fact I remember having conversations with friends in Gen 5 telling them, "I'll never stop playing," and I haven't since Gen 3's NES.
Sure nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and the author's example of a hard level is fair, but to be perfectly honest - despite a little rust - I still can beat those tough stages of long ago and always play most of my old games every year. I make that a habi...
Ah yes, Resident Evil 2, the Dawn of the Dead of video games is now legal. Back on subject here, considering how old the game is I can give the author credit with how the game MIGHT not be as scary to a newer audience with the visuals. Is there cheesy dialogue? Of course. It was cheesy then.
As for the so-called "tank controls" I've never had a problem with them, nor the newer controls, but the old controls in my opinion always added a sense of urgency.
Now in ...
One of the best consoles of all time, no question. I had so many great experiences on my SNES with the slew of releases it had. I learned about the magic of Rare, how cool it felt to execute a fatality on Mortal Kombat, how brilliant RPG's could be, how "generations" work, and that gaming rivalry in the form of fanboys was a clever disguise for passion. Just because we didn't have the same system didn't mean we weren't in the same underground club. Happy birthday, Su...
I'm guessing physical release, but something tells me he may not of knew about the would have been AO rated title. Glad to know I'm not going only one who knew about that game!
So the government are Digimon fans. Interesting.
When they feel like it? We all know how Rockstar is. These guys are one of the few developers who could post something on their website and it could be front page news within hours, so they truly need no event.
They will be our drunk uncle who shows up at another random event with a hooker to give us something from their journey, like Jared Leto at Christmas in Lord of War.
