I don't think so.
Bloodborne was not made for everyone, just like Demons or Dark souls. From software has stuck to the formula which is why the loyal fans were so eager for bloodborne, if the devs wanted to dial it down and make it less unforgiving and more accessible then it wouldn't be the same.
It's easier than ever to create content, some of the current UI's Drag and drops are a godsend.
However scripting is hell. I was taught the basics in high school it is the most boring thing imaginable but it payed off. I created a village in TES construction set and it took me longer to program a single NPC than it did to create an entire house. But it was worth it when I saw my Necrotrader eating breakfast in the morning, selling his wares during the day, and going h...
Wow. You'd think a developer would offer more than entry level trolling.
Blue shells sold separately XD.
The start might have been underwhelming but the best is yet to come:
Arkham Knight
Witcher 3
Just Cause 3
Battlefront (and other star wars titles)
Mass Effect 4
Gears of War 4
Halo 5
Fallout 4 (fingers crossed)
Deus Ex universe
Uncharted 4
Mad Max
Zelda U
Rare's reboot (Conker or Banjo, both would be good)
and many more...
There are still plenty of game...
I don't think Ellie's sexual orientation is an issue.
Straight or not, Ellie is unforgettable and Ashley Johnson deserves her reward.
No Mordin from ME3?
How do you know that he didn't read the article?
What resolution did the witcher 2 have on PS3? that's right, it was never on PS3. The resolution of the witcher 2 was not an issue but now that Witcher 3 is making it's way to playstation suddenly resolution is now an issue.
Sure the Witcher 3 will look prettier on PS4-there is no denying that. But the fact is that many Playstation owners will get to experience the Witcher for the first time and If it's a epic as the first two then who cares about the resolution? ...
I think the achievement/trophy system is a great idea.
It extends the longevity of a game and encourages players to experiment with weapons, test their skills, or explore their surroundings.
Ready at Dawn deserves a 10/10 for bravery and ambition.
The Order might not be a critical success and I hope that it doesn't discourage other developers from going out on a limb and doing something different.
I've yet to play it but i want to because it's unique-forget the scores. Binary Domain wasn't groundbreaking and the scores were average but the premise was fresh and that's what i liked.
We need to give the new IP...
Agreed-19th century London was a dull and ugly place and by the looks of it Ready at Dawn recreated the atmosphere very well.
That is harsh.
IGN is the poster boy of inconsistency. I remember IGN praising Gears of War: Judgement despite the fact it was the weakest entry in the series. I remember IGN praising Modern Warfare 3 despite the fact that it was basically a Modern Warfare 2 clone.
@thePope
"You guys want less DLC then companies are going to have to be able to charge more for their games."
C'mon...How many times have games gone up in price due to lack of DLC? Give me one good example and I'll shut up.
Red dead redemption was great before dead nightmare, and the bundle costed less then the separate transactions. The same could be said for the other GOTY's, it ends up on the disc for no extra cost. ...
I've been gaming since '89 and it's nothing like it used to be.
Back then you got what you paid for and rewards were earned not bought. Back then everything was on the cartridge and not sold to you in increments.
Back then you plugged in and played and there was no need for day one patches to fix problems that should've been fixed in production-and back then the publishers didn't sink their teeth into the devs necks because it was about th...
The order is a fresh IP with an original setting-people have been crying out for new IP's for years and now that we get one people start bitching about it!
Ready at Dawn is bringing something new to the table and if you don't like it go then back to playing your annualized franchises and bitch about how they never change.
Remember when you had to unlock your skins? Pepperidge farms remembers.
Pepperidge farm also remembers a time when the publishers let the devs do their own thing before they started sticking their hand in the cookie jar.
Pepperidge farm also thinks that people should send a loud and clear message to the publishers.
That is a decent length for sure.
I clocked the first two gears games on insane in about 13 hours-and that's considering the hour or so I lost due to dying or searching every nook and cranny for cog tags or collectibles.
The uncharted games could be clocked in a dozen hours, Deus Ex on hard takes about 16 hours if you leave no stone unturned. But 18 hours? it seems too good to be true.
I guess we'll find out when people clock it.
Let's hope others follow suit.
Taking away the scoring system forces the reader to form their own opinions based on the content and not the score, and if other sites do the same it will stop the petty squabbling amongst the community.
One site gives TLOU 10/10 and nobody bats an eye, but another site gives it an 9/10 and everybody loses their minds.
And if others follow this example it could also help stop poor reviews who rely on scores...
Pach man strikes again! Wakka wakka wakka.
The next few months will be interesting. If I could gaze into Pachters crystal ball I can see M$ pulling a one two punch by showing Halo 5 and the next gears of war at E3.
But If I gaze further I can see No man's sky getting some air time on PS4 and more Zelda U footage. I also see Nvidias shield getting a consolatory round of applause from the 14 people who are genuinely excited about it.
