Well... the teaser did say 2021. I was on the fence myself but they did announce 2021 with no set date.

IMO you took his comment the wrong way. Supporting a console years after a new one is out and supporting cross-gen games are not the same thing. Sony dropped the ball with making the PS3 architecture so unique not allowing this to be easily done with PS2-PS3 or PS3-PS4 although it was possible and was done with LBP3 and for plenty of 3rd party titles and still as of last year there were games being released for PS3, PS4, and Vita via cross-play that Sony introduced with the PS3 and Vita. <...

I take that back, my bad dude. Looks like they had a montage trailer in December where it said PS5 exclusive. Yeah their marketing is all sorts of mixed up. They also had a couple times where their trailers ended with the wrong message at the end of it like when they initially announced demons souls and everyone thought it was coming out on PC too.

Not really. We knew they were working on something new but there was never confirmation of it being a entirely new IP. There were people begging for them to make another syphon filter but that's all I ever saw/heard about it.
Them working on something new is old news but announcing it being a new IP is definitely fresh news... To me at least

The dualsense controller features and tempest audio are two things the PS5 version will offer.

No, Sony is now worth 95 billion while SE is 2 billion... both are numbers for 2021. Sony has enough spending money to do it if they really wanted to and they would get a return on that purchase easily a year or two into the buyout.
