So you like being monopolized?
And Blizzard, Valve, and id Soft are big PC pushers, even if they've had console ports, you can tell their main focus is PC. Team Fortress 2 is a huge example. The console version is just... barebones compared to what the PC version has become with all the updates (crafting system, weapons and items, tons of class tweaks, constant new maps). Although it isn't really Valve's fault they never updated the 360 version, something about Mi...
There are also TONS of tutorials online for building computers, and forums for newbies looking to build a gaming rig. Tom's Hardware forums is a good place to start.
And if you're waiting for cloud gaming, you'll be waiting a LONG time. Onlive tried to do it and... well it pretty much failed (low resolutions, high price for essentially rentals, low graphical settings on games).
They're so stupid for putting mouse and keyboard as minimum then gaming pad as RECOMMENDED. Really Capcom? One of the main problems with the game was the poor controls, and you're recommending people to use them.
No Silent Hill 1-3?
It's one of the few horror games that doesn't rely on jump scares. Everything about it is just disturbing as hell. I wasn't scared because I thought something was gonna pop up around the corner, I was scared because I KNEW what was around the corner because of the freaky garbling static sounds, but I didn't want to face it D: The way they move is inhuman too...
That Quakecon pack is insane just for including Fallout 3 GOTY, the Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion GOTY, all the Doom games, and all the Quake games. For $70. And I didn't list the rest of the games. HOLY F***
"did anyone notice that the majority of Japanese games can only be found on game consoles and many American and European games can be found on the PC?"
Very true, they do have their visual novels on PC though, and there is no market on that for consoles. Probably because many of them are H- games (would never pass ESRB or the other rating systems), and they wouldn't sell well over here, but there is good non-Hentai stuff like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
The GF104 might change things though, the GTX460 has pretty much been praised like hell for fixing all the problems with the other Fermi cards, while being at a seemingly bargain price.
Metro felt more like a PC game ported to consoles than a multiplat work. I've seen screenshots of the 360s graphics, and they are awful compared to the PC version. It looks like it killed the atmosphere. The gameplay felt like something made for PCs too.
Because if you've played the other ones, you could tell that they'ed have to completely redesign the interface for consoles. The general design of the game itself feels made for mouse and keyboard.
And with how big the game is and the fact that the series is generally VERY demanding game (the original barely ran around 30fps with objects dynamic lighting on GeForce 7800s when it came out, let alone FULL dynamic lighting. 8800s drilled through it nicely though)
...
Ugh, this could reaaally get dumbed down for consoles. I'm happy they're finally making S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 though (although Call of Pripyat is honestly worthy of that title).
That map is godly compared to the 2004 version of the map and the Epic Games made maps for UT3. Mapmakers usually push out crazy graphics somehow.
"I am not sick of games like Mass Effect 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum. They are two of the best playing and best looking games this gen, and guess what engine they use?"
Unreal 3. Bioshock 1 and 2 use an extremely modified version of UE 2.5, which I think was a lame thing to do since UE3 has been around for ages now, and obviously looks better.
The PhysX isn't just particles though, the way the clothing moves is a HUGE improvement over the stiff clothes when I played the console demo. I feel like it's worth the performance drop, and the drop isn't that big for me either.
My problem isn't the trigger itself (I'm fine using it for racing games or grenades), but shooting with R2 just feels... weird. I've always preferred R1 for my shooting.
Mass marine marauder balls with stimpacks are the worst for me as a Protoss mainer. They cut through every Protoss Gateway unit like butter unless you forcefield the bottom of the ramp fast enough with sentries. Reaper rushes are easy to deal with, I just get an early stalker.
I just realized something... Monolith isn't developing this one? I don't know if I can consider that good or bad, because from Condemned 2 and after, their games haven't been that great, but the made they original Condemned, F.E.A.R., AVP2, and No One Lives Forever, which were all amazing games.
Actually everyone called bullshots of the first Dirt 2 screens because when it came out on consoles it didn't look like that, but on PC it looks stunning, alot better than the console demo I played. They look exactly like the original screenshots, if not better because of the ambient occlusion and the DX11 water effects.
Yakuza aren't like the US "gangsters" (who are actually real pussies). These guys are dead serious when the time comes.
lol, I saw this in the forums earlier, good stuff :P pretty funny how they like all the stuff cut out of the US version. And Sega US, watch out, the Yakuza don't like you.
Yup, I don't really want another Fallout till they rework their engine and go back to the mature mood and atmosphere of the original two.
