I know this is hella late, but I finally uploaded a video to youtube.

That's awesome.
That kind of reminds me of the last level in Halo 3 where you can get in a Warthog and drive ALL over the map. It's awesome that Bungie creates environments THAT big when probably the majority of people who play won't even venture out like that.
"Actually it wasn't. COD4 took over as the most played game on xbl when it released. Halo 3 was the runner-up for quite some time but COD has dominated xbl."
I'm talking about for the entire calendar year. Major Nelson posted it.

"I think reviews state otherwise in terms of being on "par" but you bring up good points about the updates and how halo just keeps being played for years."
I'm not sure if he's saying it's on par with other Halo games, or with other games in general.
If he's saying it's on par with other Halo games, I agree. I think all of the halo games are great. However, if he's saying it's on par with other games in general,...
Halo: Reach is hardly a par game.
Maybe if devs of other games that supposedly deserve more sales were as close with their fanbase and community as Bungie is with the Halo Community, they too could have sales like this.
I know someone will bring in marketing, but what is it that keeps Halo selling strongly months and years after it releases? What is it that keeps people PLAYING the game months and years after it releases?
It's word of mou...
"Lol just like how MW2 dethroned
Halo 3 when it came out."
Halo 3 released in 2007, MW2 released in 2009.
Halo 3 was the most played game on Xbox Live for 2007/2008/2009.
It'll be interesting to see what will be the most played game on Xbox Live for 2010, if it'll be MW2. It'll be tough for Reach to have more players in three months, than MW2 has had for 12, but it'll be interesting to see.
Armor Lock>Turboing Ghost.
I DEMOLISHED Ghosts on two separate occasions because I Armor Locked. I should make a video and put it up here. Hmmmmmmmm.
Still to this day, that is one of the most epic cutscenes I've watched. The first time I saw it, my eyes were the size of golf balls and my jaw was on the floor.
You don't have to play the sales, but the sales mean there are tons of people playing an amazing game. Sorry that you aren't experiencing it.
LMFAO XD
That's funny as hell dude. Thanks for posting that.
There's lots of things that are unnecessary and sad, one of which is you coming into a Halo article, and posting your dribble.
Like newhumanbreed said, this is a prequel to the Halo trilogy.
Having never played a Halo game, this would actually be a perfect place to start. If you like it enough, it will transition perfectly into Halo: Combat Evolved, that is if you can deal with the difference in graphics. Halo 3 was my first Halo game, and it was jarring to go back and play Halo: CE, but it was worth it.

I absolutely HATE Standoff. I always do horrible on that god damn map. No matter what strategy I try to use, I have a negative K/D spread.
"As I thought, young guys, unprofessional. So they weren't rushed which is why I responded. Why read the article, I come here for the comments, they're at least entertaining, and vg articles are nothing but advertising. I'm not wasting my time on shitty game writing, when I could be reading the gold snark like "maybe read the article next time?""
LOL, I'm sure you're the very definition of professional.

""Our biggest learning [from Halo 2] is that before you invest real time and real work, you have to have a plan that's realistic and do the diligence up front," Jarrard explains. "For Halo 2, I think we had great ambitions and great ideas, but they weren't really proven. It took a long time to realise that the team was veering down a wrong path. My recollection of Halo 2 is that it was a shotgun approach - throwing stuff up against the wall. It took too long before...
My only complaint with the review would be this part:
"As good as the new leveling system is and as intriuging as the new credits system is, the simple fact that the credits you earn can only be used towards cosmetic upgrades to your character is a bit of a letdown. Don't get me wrong here, I love the direction that Bungie took with Reach's online leveling system but I would have loved to see things that were hard to earn that could actually help you out in game....
"Halo 3's major triumphs were Forge mode and the impressive replay recording facility. What most people don't know, though, is that the recording facility very nearly made it into the second game.
"I didn't really know about it at the time, and I've since learnt that apparently we had a saved film theatre option working in Halo 2," Sankey reveals. "Chris Butcher, at the time one of our lead engineers, was so passionate about this feature he...
I think he means wear and tear on the laser and disc drive. You still need the game in the console, so you still have to handle it.
I could be mistaken though.
My oldest game(s), Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Dead or Alive 4, are still in mint condition.
I'll probably play some campaign first, and then I'll install it the next day or something.
I was in the same boat you are when I played Halo 3, which was my first Halo game. The more I played the game though, the more I realized just why it was the favorite game of so many people.
There's so much attention to detail in Halo 3. A lot of little things start adding up.
Agreed.
Bungie is awesome for their Weekly Update. I try to read it every week because it always has some good info in it.
