Very nice review and a good read. 91/100 is a very proper score for this game, although I'd personally rate it a point or two higher since I really enjoy R2.
March 5, 2009, that's the release date for Japan. I believe RE5 will be released simultaneously in both North America and Europe on PS3 and 360 a week later.

Amen, Killzone 2 will drop an atom bomb on the people still slinging mud at it, it'll be a top-tier game. But I digress, amidst all the great games coming out next year, none personally excite me more than RE5.

Don't listen to him, Steven, you know he's loyal to his Xbox alone. I've beaten this game three times already, including on Superhuman, and I highly recommend it. It outdoes Resistance: Fall of Man in every way; scale, gore, weapons, color, graphics, online, and it's hands down just more fun than the first. This game is nowhere near a 78/100, trust me on that one.

Not sure if you can upscale R2 or not, but I think it was confirmed by Insomniac to be running at 720p @ 30 FPS. And yes, the singleplayer will have upped visuals compared to multi, have you not seen any of the real-time trailers of Resistance 2?

Insomniac really put a lot of hard work into Resistance 2, revamping many things that were criticized in the first game, lighting being a prime example. I'll definitely be reaping the benefits come next week, can't wait for this game!

I really don't play RPG's, but this, Fallout 3, and Ico's new game really have my attention.
IMO, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War 2 both will look better than Far Cry 2 as far as console visuals are concerned in 2008. Obviously a high-end PC version of Far Cry 2 will look better than any console game to date because it's running at higher specs.

Second killer app, Breakfast. "Movie Gear Solid 4" has been a console pusher and is sitting at a 94 on Metacritic. Call it what you will, but it's been out for less than two months and still has almost sold 4 million copies.
LBP will be a truly revolutionary game though, that's for damn sure.

I actually felt the same way, so you're not alone. While the art style in the game is simply gorgeous, the gameplay just couldn't reel me in. I'm more of a mindless shooter guy though to be honest, but I applaud SEGA for their effort on this game. Maybe sales will pick up down the road for VC, SEGA sure deserves it and so do the fans hoping for a sequel.
