You do know that only 50% of households in America have 4K TV's right? (Likely to be much lower in the rest of the world) A lot of content has yet to catch up to even showing 4K such as TV/sports. At the end of the day it's an option, and if you're serious about being competitive in a multiplayer shooter, you're gunna take the extra frames over the resolution.
Assassin's Creed, Shadow of war, various other multiplayer shooters that if you paid extra money for better weapons/perks you have an unfair advantage.
You might play games that don't have those things which is fair enough, however ignorance won't prevent them creeping into games that you do care about.
