Guess what mate, Digital world is here, been that way on PC for a decade, the whole Physical media argument died a while ago. I get that people still enjoy it but Sony cater to digital also so that argument is daft. If any Xbox didn't come with a disc drive then I would understand, but it does so I don't.
for the cost it's a fantastic machine, it's cheaper than a graphics card at a similar performance. Just becuase it's cheap doesn't mean that it doesn't bring value. Not everyone wants or can afford top of the line gear, which is why options are good.
If people are that bothered get yourself a bad ass PC if you're worried about things being cheap like I have. But just because I have shelled out £1000 for both consoles, £1700 for a PC and ...

How in any way shape or form is that a bad thing? They're giving people on a lower budget an option and clearly from a business stand point, it's working.

Yeah I actually liked Resistance, I think a modern take on it would be great. Only reason why Resistance didn't do as well as it maybe should have done back in PS3 days was that Killzone was Sony's darling and Halo/Battlefield/CoD were in the height of their powers, FPS were oversaturated at that point.

Plus with the announcement of game pass streaming directly on TV's I'm pretty sure they don't care if they get outsold, Xbox get that on every major TV brand and they've won in their eyes. Install base they would have at that point would be crazy to think about.
Xbox actually have a good culture under Phil looking at reports, it's quite relaxed and developers are being afforded a safe working environment without much or any reported crunch.
The downside of that in the lax approach is the frequency of games being delivered (complete lack thereof). But don't blame Xbox for a bad working environment or that they would make it worse, that's just made up bullshit by fanboys who have no idea what they're talking about.

Are you really comparing the level of writing in Tiny Tina to the amount of options that will be in Starfield? People gave shit for the fallout 4 voice acting, so they have gone back to what people preferred.
That's people's fault for having too high expectations though. I think the game looks fantastic within the bounds of what I know Bethesda games are like, the graphics are actually better than what I thought they would. The gunplay is 2nd grade and I get it, a game should have fun combat, but that's never been what they're sold on. Nor are many other widely acclaimed RPG's.

Yeah I like the fact it was all gameplay, they couldn't have another show like last year, it would have killed them.
What kind of shot them in the foot was only showing what's coming in 12 months. That's both good and bad, and some games such as Avowed, Hellblade, Fable, Inexiles new RPG may be coming out latter half of 2023. But I wanted to see them at this showcase, felt like it was missing one or two other heavy hitters.
I think that's a design choice if anything, it's not supposed to look all saturated in colour and flashy. It's supposed to look like a realistic gritty take on space travel.
Reminds me of Star wars Original trilogy crossed with mass effect 1 in its asthetic.

The game looks like exactly what a lot of people were expecting and more to be honest. The people complaining about that the gunplay doesn't look great, until you play it you can't really tell, but I agree it looks mediocre. Thing is though that's never been Bethesda's strong suit, or any other RPG developer other than Soulsbourne games, they're always subpar combat.

This Showcase is really make or break for Xbox, sounds are most will be focusing on gameplay which is needed. But of what they show isn't impressive there's going to be extreme disappointment.
This needs to be the best show they have done since the early 360 days, no more CG trailers, no more fake promises.

I'm scared of where gaming is heading.
If this is widely adopted it'll be a massive Improvement on the current Checkerboard solution that Devs sometimes use. Consistent 4k60fps or worthwhile Ray Tracing might finally be achievable. Even on on my RTX 3070, unless there's DLSS support, Ray tracing is not worth the hit to frames.
