What does the PC version have to do with this? It kinda made sense with Part 1 as it was a visual leap, just the in engine cut scenes alone was massive. But Part 2 literally looks the same?
It's a weird decision and I think it's just to fill the massive gap they currently have. Hopefully we hear more about their other studios, but other than Ghost of Tsushima 2, there's not even rumours and all their other studios are busy with other things.

The square exclusivity seems to be over after Phil appeared on their stage to announce FF14 will be coming to Xbox, because of Square's stupid expectations when it comes to sales, FF16 and FF7 will be coming to Xbox and maybe even game pass in the future.

Doesn't need to be a single player only title, but Sony if anything are crying out for a first person shooter, their portfolio at this point is very very samey even if you enjoy their games.

Destiny 2 is the only console live service game I can think of that's an out and out success. If the Titan of the genre fails, we will be less likely to see this cancer in the future. I enjoyed Destiny at points when they were releasing good content i.e Taken King...
