Unfortunately, most N4G commenters are blindly loyal to either the Xbox One of Playstation 4 (mostly to the PS4). This makes it impossible for them to see their own hypocrisy, let alone have a normal conversation.

For the first six months of this year, Sony loyalists have ragged on Xbox fans for the Xbox One supposedly having "no games for the first six months of the year". "MS has no games, no games, no games" they screamed. "MS only releases game...

"I find it amusing how some actually believe that other games don't exist if they aren't released in October, November, and December."

Sort of how PS fans ignore all of the Xbox One games released in the first 9 months of the year, and pretend MS's holiday lineup represents the whole year.

"With MS piling all their Big games in 3 months then after that nothing. SOrry but reality is sony is constantly producing games the whole year whether big or small"

Your comment is absolutely ridiculous. Do small games exist or not? You seem to want to believe they exist for PS4, but ignore them for Xbox One. It's right there in your comment. You clearly say "Big" in relation to MS upcoming games, then clearly say "big or small" in relat...

Way to contradict yourself. In your reply to me in another thread, you claim PS4 will "win" because people will walk into Best Buy and see Star Wars and COD, while the Xbox One exclusives won't help MS at all. Now, all of the sudden, it's all about PS4 exclusives.

Naturally, you ignore the masses around here who force themselves to hate Tomb Raider, Forza, Halo and backwards compatibility simply because they don't have an Xbox One.

Way to desperately downplay all of MS's games. Your OPINION is that Halo 5 won't be as good as everyone says, but Fallout 4 will be the game that clobbers everything else? Your OPINION is clearly based on nothing but anti-Xbox bias, and you're the one underestimating the PROVEN sales power of the main Halo series games.

Also, if COD & Fallout 4 will "clobber" every Xbox exclusive, what will they do to PS4's far weaker slate of exclusives? Again...

That's a contradiction right there.

When you have to resort to judging the quality or importance of a game release based only on what month in which it comes out, you know your argument is moot.

Nobody is forcing Xbox One owners to but EVERY game in the exact month it's released. They have the CHOICE of which games to buy right away, and which ones to wait on. You talk like games will disappear in the months following release.

Xbox One owners can choose to stagger their purchases over the...

Right, because sales determine what console is superior. Just like last generation, people knew the Wii was the superior console.

EDIT @ Loktai - this is a sales article. Therefore, his comment about PS4 being superior is based only on sales, and history has proven him wrong. Your statement that PS4 is superior in power and superior in the opinion of a great number of people is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

"The Wii sold because it was ...

I said possible system-seller. Forza 6 is looking to be pretty amazing, and it will come out in September, a month before the real heavy hitters start arriving.

If Forza 6 gets great reviews, and some positive word of mouth, it could help MS during a month in which it could be the biggest title by far.

Forza 5 came out in November, and IIRC Forza's 3 & 4 were October releases. Maybe releasing a month earlier than normal will help - it couldn'...

If they are going to close the gap, the next 6 months will be the test. Halo, Forza & Tomb Raider are coming to Xbox One, but not to PS4 during that period. Those are AAA, possible system-selling titles, the kind that Sony lacks during the same timeframe.

Everything is in place for MS. If Xbox One hasn't significantly closed the gap come February, there will be little chance of them overtaking (or even catching) Sony this generation.

Funny that thi...

"Yearly releases of Forza will make it more and more irrelevant."

Right. Because MORE high quality games is a BAD thing.

You don't see the advantage?

Racing fans on the "other console" have three exclusive games to choose from, while PS4 racing fans have ONE.

Of course, lack of choice in racing games seems like no big deal to you. At least you can brag about sales instead of actually having racing games to play.

@rain

It would seem that nearly everyone here defines legendary as "appeared at a Sony press conference". This whole argument is mainly about bragging rights, and some people's twisted definitions of "E3 victory".

Call me a fanboy all you want, but getting back to my response to Spoties original comment (in which he downplays backwards compatibility), I'd be willing to bet that the number of people excited about BC on Xbox One wou...

How does "status in limbo" help make a game legendary? If that's the case, I guess Duke Nukem Forever & Agent (remember that one from 2009) meet part of your qualifications for a "legendary" game.

You guys are trying so hard to come up with a definition of "legendary", but each time you try it fails because there are numerous other far-from-legendary games that would also fit your categorizations.

Among the games you men...

You're going to talk about the next entry in yearly releases? How many Final Fantasy games have been released in the past few years? There's at least one per year.

PS4 has been out for less than two years, and it already has two FF games. It's no different than the yearly franchises you complain about on Xbox One.

Sorry, but only fanboyism makes those games legendary.

You're welcome.

What titles have "legendary" status? Shenmue is a cult classic that sold 1 million on Dreamcast and around half a million on Xbox. Sega fans are clamoring for a sequel to Shenmue in the same way they want a true update to "Streets of Rage" or "Skies of Arcadia". Cult popularity, however, doesn't equate to legendary status.

FF7 may be close to legendary, but the fact that only 10% of PS1 owners originally bought it lessens the impact.

3887d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

I never said it was a failure. I said that 10% hardly qualifies it as worthy of the hype it's getting. People are making comments like "the internet blew up when it was announced". That's just ridiculous. Anyone with a PS1, PS2 or PS3 can play FF7 ANYTIME they want.

If a game disappeared for a while, or wasn't playable on newer hardware, then I could understand the hype, But that's simply not the case here.

FF7 is a good game,...

I don't get the FF7 hype. It sold around 10 million copies on the PS1, which is 10% of the user base for that console. Plus, PS1 games have been playable on PS2 and PS3 for the past 15 years. It's not like it's been out of circulation.

If it had sold 30+ million, then I might understand. But what's so special about a game that 90% of people didn't buy in the first place? What kind of impact will a remake of a game that only 10% of people bought have o...

It's hilarious to see the 180 from last generation.

PS fans used to downplay multi-plats (especially COD) in favor of exclusives, even if the exclusives were doomed to sell far fewer copies than they heavy hitter multi-plats. Now, PS fans are bragging about them.

MS still has the HUGE selling point that Xbox One is the only console that can play BOTH games.
