I've bought about a dozen Dreamcast & PS1 games from Gamestop with mostly positive results. I got Raystorm & Capcom vs. SNK for PS1 complete and in excellent condition, as well as Sonic Adventure & Street Fighter III: Third Strike for Dreamcast.
I've noticed that most games are priced with the value of just a cartridge or disc. For instance, Street Fighter III: Third Strike is $19.99 on Gamestop.com. A complete copy sells for $40+ on Ebay. So, even if ...
I always preferred the Genesis because of the sports and shooter games. Madden and NHL were always better on Genesis, and both really invented the way we still play sports games.
Shooters like MUSHA and Thunder Force 3 & 4 were truly revolutionary, and used the Genesis' strengths to full effect. This is where the Genesis' faster processor really came in to play (i.e. "Blast Processing").
Plus, Genesis had some incredible platformers be...
"Ps3 was outselling the 360 worldwide since launch."
So, you'd disagree with Sony and MS's own financial reports which show that 360 outsold PS3 WORLDWIDE for the entire years of 2008 and 2011?
I'll try to make this very simple for Sony fans......
Xbox 360 outsold PS3 WORLDWIDE for the entire years of 2008 and 2011. The MYTH that PS3 outsold Xbox 360 every year from the start is a LIE that gets spread around here among PSbros who can't deal with the truth.
This information can easily be found in Sony and MS's own OFFICIAL financial reports.
Plus, MS sold 14.9 million Xbox 360's in 2011. PS3 NEVER reached that total...
"The difference is that's all the 360 cared to advertise."
Funny, I don't see much Sony advertising for Tales of Zesteria or any of their other recent exclusives, but I do see plenty of COD & Star Wars all over the place, with PS4 in those ads.
Sony is doing EXACTLY what MS was ridiculed for last generation.
100% right. We went from super polished 2D graphics to the infancy of machines designed specifically for 3D.
Looking back now, it's the 2D fighters, shumps & RPG's that are still popular (and valuable) today. Although, some 3D games from the era still look OK, such as Tekken 3 & Virtua Fighter 2.
It's an Xbox exclusive until the day it's available for a competing platform.
I was thinking about that today too. Unfortunately, I believe the genre is now dead, except for the occasional re-release on Xbox Live or PSN.
The 16/32 bit days were the pinnacle of shooters. I'm still discovering games that I never knew existed, mainly because so many Sega Saturn games were released only in Japan. Thanks to the Action Replay, as well as a modchip that allows a Saturn to read CD-R's, I can finally play the ones that were never exported from Japan....
I've always wanted to try this game, as I'm a huge fan of 16/32 bit shooters, but I haven't found it for a reasonable price.
I should just buy it anyway, considering how hot the retro game market is now. It's not going to lose value anytime soon.
Nobody's denying that PS4 owners will have both in a year. However, ROTR is a very good game, it's on Xbox One NOW, and it fills a void in that genre.
At least now, someone who chooses Xbox One because of Halo, Gears or Forza won't have to do without an action adventure game. Uncharted will never be on Xbox, but ROTR is a highly rated substitute, and the fact that PS4 owners will EVENTUALLY have both to choose from doesn't make it any less appealing to Xbox ...
"Ps4 was in hold for several reasons. People waiting for the price drop."
The price drop happened in early October. Which means the people waiting for a price drop got their wish in October.
Waiting for Black Friday deals applies to both consoles.
What's your point? This is an article about U.S. sales.
The U.S. alone accounts for around 40% of all worldwide game sales. Can you name another country that does even HALF of that? If you're going to win just one country, it might as well be the biggest one.
@above - I'm curious, since you guys claim 300K isn't that great. How many PS4's were you expecting Sony to sell after the long awaited price drop? Wasn't that what everyone was waiting for? Wasn't the price drop supposed to kill the Xbox One, even in a Halo Month? Wasn't Sony supposed to win every month this year because of the new price?
Plus, the price drop happened early in October, Halo had just five days to sell.
Exactly right, you can't go wrong with either. Currently, Xbox One is in a period of high profile exclusives, while PS4's exclusive offerings aren't as well known outside these circles. Earlier this year it was the opposite, as Sony had big names while MS had smaller niche titles. This will likely go back and forth for a while.
I know there are a few reasonable people around here who can state their preference in a civil way, without resorting to insulting fans...
Lackluster Halo? It's an 85 on Metacritic.
You're sure in full damage control mode lately with the slew of great Xbox One games in stores NOW. You obviously are feeling pretty insecure and desperate.
"
It's a proven fact that Sony could release 1,000 good games in the coming year, and someone would still find a reason and a way to say the PS4 doesn't have games!"
Replace Sony & PS4 with MS & Xbox One in your comment and it would also be true.
Both sides do their share of lying about the other. There's no high ground either way.
Just so you know, MS releases games all year long too. Unfortunately, many here like to buy into the "MS has no games for the first 9 months of the year" lie.
People who say Sony has no games are every bit as wrong as people who think MS doesn't release games all year long.
So, you make an entire comment putting down the Xbox One while telling others not to put down the PS4?
Halo & Tomb Raider are highly rated for a reason, despite how hard you try to put them down, and Fallout has issues on BOTH systems. It's obvious how much the Xbox One lineup annoys you and makes you so insecure. If you were content with your choice of PS4, you wouldn't have to post comments like this one.
Then, you make it seem like a FREE upd...
Damn, you are in full damage control mode lately. You must be feeling really insecure with all the commenting you're doing. People who are content with their choices don't have to troll like you're doing.
"If by 2017 PS4 is selling 3:1 or 4:1 world wide (it is already nearly 2:1 worldwide)"
That's some wishful thinking right there. Right now, it's around 1.8:1, as PS4 is around 31 million and Xbox One is around 17 million.
In order for just a 3:1 margin, Sony would have to sell 29 million more PS4's to reach 60 million, while MS would sell only 3 million Xbox One's in the same timeframe to reach 20 million. Even in N4G fantasy wor...
