These issues you speak of don't exist anymore with Nexus Mod Manager. The program installs everything on it's own, in order. There are a few things that need to be done manually, but not many. You can get the game looking this good or better just by using manager installed mods, without doing a single thing manually other than clicking the install with manager button on the Nexus website.
I have a 7mb download speed, 1 up.. Though my speed tests when its good working at it's best are 6.5 down. When I did the connection test it said I could stream at the highest quality. Though I doubt I'm getting the highest quality. It did work just fine for me though. Anything below that and I'd worry about not being able to use it. I did have 1 time were it said my connection wasn't good enough to stream the game. Probably dropped into the 5mb range for a short time.
So some of the monsters might be smaller than Goliath? Downgrade confirmed. /s
I'm looking forward to Evolve. Looks like a great game, definitely hoping they will show off at least one new monster at e3.
Consoles already have a low level API, PC's are only starting to get there with Mantle and DX12. Once one or the other takes over and is implemented into most games, pc users are going to see a way bigger performance gain because we never really had something like that before. Low level API + pc hardware= awesome.
The only issue I see here is you obsessing over 60fps. It runs fine on my pc locked at 30fps. Only issues I get are while driving. While that is annoying it's far from game breaking. Everything else runs smooth as can be. 30fps is absolutely fine for a game like this. I can't imagine having another 30fps would improve the fun of this game. It already looks fantastic. Read the article and you still sound like no less of a Playstation fanboy than you usually do. It runs fine on my pc. Issues while driving seem to run across the board regardless of the platform. Other wise I get a consistent 30fps because I have it locked, downsampled from 1440p. It would run even better if I decided to turn it down to 1080p. Same glitch from pretty much every other open world game. There is always somewhere to fall through the map. lol
I turned it on after reading the GeForce walk through of the graphical tweaks available. I had turned it down to 8 before I decided to lock my FPS, so I will be doing some more tweaks this morning to see if I can raise a few things I had lowered before when I was dealing with serious frame dips when I wasn't limiting the FPS.
Doesn't bother me at all. I don't go into a game like this looking for racing sim like driving physics. If your after realistic driving, they make racing games for that. I like the floaty cars that can crash into things a thousand times before you have to ditch it. I've been having a blast on the game all day. The only issues I have is a sudden and seemingly random fps drop when driving. Other than that it runs great. Definitely a hardware intensive game. IDK if that's due to it being unoptimized or just everything going on in the world, because there is a lot. I downsample from 1440p on a 1080p screen, 8x Anisotropic filtering in nVidia control panel, everything on Ultra, turned down HBAO+ High to low, and SMAA. With those setting the game look...
There are some great tips in there. The comparison shots are great, definitely helps to choose which settings to turn down to get better performance without killing the visuals. Looks like a couple of them are barely any difference from high to Ultra. But you gain a few fps. Definitely looking forward to seeing how my rig will run this. A little less than 2 hours now..
In case anyone didn't notice preload is available on Steam. Has been for a few hours now I think. I'm 46% preloaded! Excited. Glad they preloaded because it's about a 4 1/2 download for me.

Would be nice if they released them today. That way you can already have the drivers installed before you even begin playing. Not too big of a deal, as it seems to run decent for most people, though some had a few issues. Of course this all depends on what time they get released, if it's midnight, that would be great. Either way, good to hear.
That looks fantastic. Can't think of a single "vanilla" open world game that looks that good unless your willing to look past everything going on in this game, that is missing from many others.

Doesn't look like that's going to be the case. It will likely unlock at 12:01 am. Someone posted a screen shot on the Steam forums of an email from Ubisoft customer service saying that it wouldn't be preloading on uPlay or Steam.
