What's funny is Microsoft is ballsy enough to send you a list of friends who haven't played Gears of War 3 and should be "invited" to play Gears of War 3. Of those on the list emailed to me, all of them have Gears of War 3.

Change what? It's a great formula that works. All you can do is iterate without breaking what makes the game fun for the massive fanbase that enjoys it. You have a rock solid engine, fluid gameplay and controls, an in game economy and sandbox that rewards players and allows them to play the way they want to. What more are they really suppose to add? People keep saying they need to change or innovate but change what, innovate what?

Gears of War will never have the online community an FPS has. It's just not as accessible. I've seen many new to the game's multiplayer quit in frustration. Not only was Battlefield 3 beaten by Black Ops but Modern Warfare 2 as well. At peak this weekend there were 1.4 million unique users playing Black Ops. Unless it's a Halo CE Anniversary like overhaul, what's the point? Upscaling a game isn't exactly an HD update. It just looks horrible. I bought Resident Evil 4 HD and honestly, I'd just rather play it on my PS2. It just looks awful. Halo CE Anniversary does an HD remake right. Message for publishers, either do it properly or don't bother.
The trailer wasn't very exciting though. The voiceover was dry and the trailer didn't really get me excited for a new GTA game.

I got it from Gamefly. They shipped it the Monday before it was released and I got it on Wednesday. The singleplayer is utter rubbish but I only paid $10 for the online pass which is better than having paid $60 for a game I'd be trading in next week. Yeah. The multiplayer support for Gears of War 3 has been phenomenal. They've really tried to make amends for the mistakes they made with Gears of War 2's launch.
Still play UT2004. On consoles Halo Reach's MLG Team Slayer playlist is the best. Looking forward to kill confirmed in MW3 which adds another dimension to the TDM formula.

Where Treyarch has always had Infinity War beat is in community support and fixing problems with their games. Black Ops has been almost incident free since launch. I'll say it's probably the most balanced Call of Duty game released but God, is it boring. Not the Call of Duty formula but the guns and killstreaks. Modern Warfare 2 was a mess but it was so much fun. Can't wait for the madness of MW3.
How about you just try spotting? I'll agree the Frostbite engine doesn't really seem suited for an FPS and it doesn't help that your teammates and the enemy look almost exactly alike but when you play the game the way it's meant to, it plays great, well, good enough to be enjoyable.

I was almost certain the content was already on the disc so it's surprise to me.
At least Bad Company's campaigns had character, humor and some personality. Battlefield 3's campaign is just boring through and through. It seemed half hearted and truly uninspired. At least with Bad Company, they tried, they really tried.
